I always think of Bush's performance of this song in the rain from one of those award shows back in the day. It was epic.

I know Bush more for their song “Machinehead”. And I completely agree “Poem” by Taproot is good. I went to a concert Taproot and Chevelle played at. It was during the middle of the school week my senior year, got home around 3 drenched in sweat then went to school the next day still riding the concert high, sore from being near the mosh pit, partially deaf from being right up front at the speakers, and completely fangirling because the lead singer for Taproot walking in the crowd while singing and side-arm hugged me.

Got to see them back in the 90's. Gavin Rosdale is such a unique song writer. Love their stuff. I think the string arrangement is what makes this song shine

Looooove this song. One of my favorites from that era. It's so simple, but the strings, Gavin's voice, all of it is just perfect.

Oh, the feels and the memories I have with that album! Are you gonna do more Bush? If so, please consider doing Muse and Placebo. They were the musical trifecta back in the day for me!

This was the first song I heard by them actually. Loved it then fell in love with the band. Edit: Ok this is my first video of yours and now I’m subbing. The piano at the end, how you say you could play that chord progression all day and it connects your soul is exactly why I tear up at great music. It doesn’t even have to be the whole song, if there’s one section of it that I like, I’ll end up liking the song. If it gives me that feeling when I listen, I’ll keep listening.

Please do some Biffy Clyro. They have so much good melodies and progression through the years that a 5BY series would be more fitting, but you could clean out the shed with them too :)

To understand it perfectly we need to breath the 90's breath grunge and be aware that at the time great short songs with a powerful message in bands with only 3 members was very normal, there's nothing missing in this song it's perfect.

Love this song. Brings back memories of elementary school haha. If you haven't heard of them, definitely check out Unleash The Archers and their song Awakening. It's a newer track(2017), but they bring that old school power metal feel, mixed with newer metal. The band is insanely talented and their lead singer Brittney Slayes is a powerhouse, and they are Canadian from Victoria, British Columbia 🤘🇨🇦

Wow, I love it! You play piano so beautifully. It's always amazed me to see people play it so easily. Being able to split your mind that way. I can sometimes do it but only for a few seconds at time. Thanks for checking this song out. Has been a favorite of mine for so long long. If you get the chance you need to watch their live in Germany version of this song. I think you'll enjoy the last few moments of it. I always do. Love the way they turn it from gloom into that feel good let everything go in a matter of a few minutes.

I remember when this song came out in Spring-summer of 1995 and some people thought he was singing about the Oklahoma city bombing as a tribute to the victims. But it has nothing to do with the explosive nitroglycerin and was written about his ex girlfriend.

Love that song. You seem like a real cool dude music teacher, I wish I had you when i was at school. We had this poor guy that had a nervous facial tick. We had some out of control girls in our class and this poor guy had no control or respect . He left the lesson once to get the deputy head to reign in these two giggling pisstaking girls and when he left , the piano got wedged up against the door and he got locked out of his own lesson . When me and the rest of the class couldn't laugh anymore as his face was shoutung through the small window in the door, some kid opened a window to the classroom and everyone in the room literally climbed out through the window and left early for the day as it was the last lesson of the period. Weirdly no one got detention/ telling off for it so I guess to save face the poor teacher daren't go back to the deputy head and wimper that he not only lost control of the entire class he lost them all out the window ! True story 🤣

Where would you put drums into this song? It would completely ruin it. It's a slow build of tension and then an unsatisfying release of tension. Like a relationship that builds and builds and it just never quite meshes right and the spark doesn't catch fire and then you just drift apart.
