Since you mentioned Vitas; Dimash does an INSANE cover of Vitas' "Opera 2". You'll have to hear it to understand what I mean by "insane". Suffice to say that Vitas heard it and felt Dimash was showing him up, and asked him never to sing it again. LOL! Oh, AND since you are big into stringed instruments, look him up playing the Kazakh mandolin (dombra) or guitar. Dimash's grandfather is a renowned dombra player & teacher, so Dimash is supremely proficient himself. Oh, he was also a gifted piano player since age 4. Oh, he's also a pretty good drum player. Oh, he's also... okay, you get the point.

True he did watch (SOS, Where Dimash was unknown and nervous.) episode 1 from a Chinese tvshow called "I am a singer" 2017 and Opera 2 is right after it in episode 2. For so far i counted Dimash play at least 8 instruments. Dimash from 2017 was amazing but he was better in 2018 and of course last year also even better. Dimash did finish 2e and became worldfamous after this tvshow.

It's getting annoying how comments on KZbin always seem to portray it as if Vitas was personally offended by Dimash's cover. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. That's hard to confirm. As far as I know, the problem was that the performance and broadcast rights/licenses to the song haven't been negotiated about properly, if there were negotiations at all. Taking care of that was the TV station's job. (Hunan TV, their logo is visible in the bottom right.) Maybe all this wouldn't have mattered, but Dimash's performances from this contest certainly gained a lot of popularity, views and ultimately money for both the TV station and Dimash. Intellectual property is a thing and while not every single illegal .mp3 download on the internet is being cracked down on, it certainly makes sense to pursue bigger cases like this.

Listen, Dimash was a fan, now with this cheeky stuff from Vitas BANNED Dimash from singing it ever again, from what I understand. That is wrong and kind of makes us all feel negative toward Vitas. I hope I am wrong about this, because I am a fan of Vitas.

@@barrichase with respect, Dimash and HunanTV earned money and fame from this performance, without consent from Vitas' team or royalties paid to them. Both Dimash and HunanTV should be professionals in the music industry. They definitely know how copyright works and at least one side took this risk knowingly. I'm actually giving Dimash's team the benefit of the doubt because he wasn't that big at the time yet and I assume we're both aware of the "World's Best" fiasco, which is another case of Dimash being blatantly lied to by the people running the contest/show. In the "World's Best" case, their cleanup was terrible, so we even got to see footage from the show contradicting the neatly cut TV broadcast.

@@barrichase I had to chime in and say that Yorekani is probably correct. It's possible that Vitas was _not_ offended; he did not "send his lawyers after Dimash". His lawyers did that because it was HunanTV's responsibility to acquire permission for Dimash to perform Opera 2, and they didn't. It wouldn't be the first time, either; Chinese composer Gao Xiaosong filed a complaint against the show's producers because they didn't acquire permission for Jason Zhang (one of the contestants) to perform the song "Silence". So they have a history of copyright infringement. Because information is so hard to come by, and most of the information that IS available is in either Chinese or Russian, I think a lot of people are jumping to conclusions and inventing their own narrative out of whole cloth. I've heard people say that "Vitas banned Dimash from performing any Vitas song ever again", I've heard other people say that Dimash got permission from Vitas by promising to perform the song "only this one time and never again," and everything in-between. The only people that know the whole truth are Dimash, Vitas, and the lawyers.

This same performance was my first glimpse of Dimash too and I never, in 2 years, looked back! He is everything! Singer, artist, interpreter of all music, composer, moral high ground, family guy, lover of us fans, he calls us his Dears! His music speaks to the soul! He has trained classically from the age of 5 and is a very hard working guy. He still practices on a daily basis as much as possible. He is traveling throughout Europe etc now after is first solo concert in USA December 10 2019. He’s already spent much time touring China and Russia. Please do more Dimash!

If you want to see him perform a song that he composed, check out Unforgettable Day from Singer 2017. It's truly mind blowing. I just saw him in concert in New York...(his first US solo concert). More Dimash Please!!! Hi, I am a 73 year old Dear ( this is what Dimash calls his fans....Men, Women and children ) because he thinks of us as part of his family. I have been following Dimash since The Singer show from China, that is what you just watched with S.O.S. Dimash is a very Humble young man and a very Kind one also. I know the other Dears have given you more songs to react to so I will leave it at that. Oh, Dimash just did a concert in New York at the Barclay Center on December 10 th. There are many videos out there that you can react to from his performances there and they are amazing. I believe they said that people from over 40 Countries attended. I know the Dears will correct me if I got that wrong... I did like your reaction but, remember Dimash was only 22 on this show...he is now 25 and believe it or not....he is better ...hard to believe. Dimash is incredible. He is the best technically trained singer in the world today. He IS music. Definitely a God given talent, but he has worked his entire life to achieve what you have just witnessed. Dimash was invited to China to perform as the wild card in their show, Singer 2017. Singer is a contest between professionals and this was Dimash's first performance. Through Singer, Dimash who is Kazakh from Kazakhstan, became known worldwide. He is famous now and has had his first U.S. Concert in New York. I FINALLY got to see him live and fully understand why people travel from all over the world to see and hear him live. You asked as I was typing, this is a cover, but it is also Dimash's interpretation. You can watch Singer as he covers many known artists, all with his own added some to the point it is almost his own. He is learning English and a couple or three he sings in English, getting better at pronouncing each time. You can go to Wikipedia to get an idea of all the awards he has received so far. I have been watching him since the third episode of Singer 2017 and I never tire of him. He always throws in surprises. I would like to request you watch Dadidau in Singer 2017. He plays the Dombra which is a two stringed instrument. You will appreciate it, again based on your comments.

You just landed on the best in the world and it is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Dimash. He is a 25 year old artist from Kazakhstan who sings in multiple languages and just performed his first solo USA concert at the Barclay Center in New York. I believe they said people from 47 different countries flew in to see the concert. I was there from Texas and it was incredible. Please react to Dimash, Sinful Passion with English subs. Thank you for those "Sic" comments. We know we have a Gem in Dimash. He was only 22 when he sang this on "The Singer Show" from China. After this song he became a breakout star in China. This was the first time anyone in the audience or the other performers had ever seen him perform. He's the type of performer if you talk while he's singing you're going to miss specials parts. Vitas only wishes he could song like this. He sings more robotic. I hope u continue to follow Dimash, you're in for some really great music. He just gets better and better. I absolutely LOVE when professionals discover Dimash! You are a lucky, lucky man and I wish I were just starting my journey (this performance is almost exactly three years old) because it's so much fun! But I have subscribed and clicked the notification bell because I want to know every time you react to Dimash because I don't want to miss it! I haven't read all the comments so I don't know what others have said, but to answer your question, this song is a cover that was made famous in a musical in France in the 70's called Starmania. You should look it up and see what the background is because it is very, very interesting, and this song means a lot to the French. Dimash started studying music at age five and he will be 26 this coming March. And most people will watch this video and probably never watch another Ogni Pietra version after this. You just get like 70% of what Dimash does with this song. You can probably watch the facecam version after this if you are a vocal coach and want to analyse his mouth the whole time. But why do this, if the version I posted got the fancam face + official video + official good sound? Most people just don't know that this version exists, hence they post the fancam version link everywhere.

Thank you for such an emotional reaction. I. always have chills and even stop breathing when I hear Dimash singing. I’m from Kazakhstan,too. I know about his way to the world’s fame. He comes out of the family of singers and composers. Dimash started singing very early, at the age of two he started performing on the stage. Natural talent and hard work gave the result. By the way, he took up swimming and it developed his chest. Dimash can hold the note very long, almost about sixteen seconds, if not more. Real popularity came after the contest “I’m a Singer” in China in 2017. He was 22 years old. Now he works with a famous Russian composer Krutoi Igor. They made a very successful tandem. Dimash sings in five languages, his pronunciation has improved greatly during last year. As for “SOS”, there are only 5 singers who performed it quite well, but Dimash is the best.

Пересмотрите запись, и вы со мной согласитесь. а насчет фальцета... ))) у народа из-за способностей Димаша идет разрыв шаблона, а вокальные тренера - товарищи консервативные, вот и спасают свою психику. Где идет громкий открытый звук, понятно, что это не фальцет, а в остальных случаях у них идет сомнение, и они его трактуют как им удобно и безопасно для психики ;).

Seriously, Dimash is not only the most gifted singer in the history, I believe he is the most gifted musician that has ever lived. I’ve never heard a musician who was absolutely PERFECT in every aspect of their instrument and be PERFECT in every aspect of musicality. Musicality is actually more important than technical skills. Thank you for react to Dimash's music. For me Dimash is the best singer in the world, he born to sing and also is a very talented compositor. I admire him a lot because besides enjoying his art Dimash is a very good person, very good son, brother, friend. He loves his fans and proves it with his closeness and kindess. He's an artist with a university education, is doing his Master in musical composition, is a graduate in classical singing, contemporary music and jazz, he's not "another" singer. He sings in several languajes and music genders, plays piano, guitar, dombra (a long-necked Kazakh lute) and drums. Is a young man who has done himself with the unconditional support of his family. He has a wonderful voice that he use as another instrument. However, he is a humble, very hardworking, proud of his country and culture and very grateful to all the people who work and support him in his career. A cover. And he sings a Vitas song... Vitas does not come close to Dimash. He even forbade Dimash to sing his song ever. It's Opera 2. Check it out. If you like his vibrato, you will love all his songs, but there is Adagio, whitch is amazing, and Love is like a dream, and Sinful passion, and Ogni Pietra, and Madamaselle Hide, and Love of tired swans, Hello , Diva dance, Daididau and so on. DIMASH is a 25 year old prodige from Kazakhstan. Sings on 12 languages, has over 6 octave range, and he is the most beautiful and talented singer in the universe. Dears are his followers, and when he has a concert Dears are traveling from 50 -60 countries to see and hear him.

He was 22 years old and the youngest contestant ever on that show. He is 25 years old now. The other people you see were his fellow competitors. He is only fluent in Russian and Kazakh. He is learning English and Mandarin. He did perform : SOS, Opera 2, Adagio, The Show Must Go On, Autumn Strong, All by Myself, Daididau, Unforgettable Day, Daybreak, Confessa and the Diva Dance, A Tribute to MJ, Give me Love. This young (25) man from Kazakhstan is currently electrifying the world and the internet. He is now considered the world's best singer with a vocal range of 6 octaves (classically trained and can handle all genres). He is also a multi-instrumentalist, and he keeps winning all kinds of awards, but beyond that, he is an amazingly humble, down-to-earth human being. His self-proclaimed mission is to spread love, peace and unity everywhere he goes (and he is going everywhere nowadays!). Hello from Portugal, with all of my respect dont compare Vitas to Dimash, They are both great singers, but i prefer Dimash, not only for is range but for is honor and human being. Than is another thing, Dimash is a million voices in one, dimash performe live, Vitas i think not always, my fellings find so weird when he sings, truly.... i find that Dimash is the voice real thing, and when this performances he has so many voices and shades, and sensibility, and so beautiful tones inside that made me believe that he is one of kind as single artiste. I saw him two times live, and i will go in March up until Prague to see him again, and with all the respect for Vitas, nothing compare to Dimash`s voice and his way of being in stage. Very nice reaction. I'm new to your channel and I just subscribed to show my support. Dimash is a master of vibrato and I look forward to you coming along the Dimash journey. You did pronounce his name correctly. As for this song, it is a cover of a French song. He does write some of his own music. Please keep on reacting to his videos. You will see an influx in subscribed count; more importantly, you will be amazed with the entirety of his range. He does cover "Opera No. 2" by Vitas in another video. Dimash is from Kazakhstan and over the past couple of years has acquired quite the U.S. fan base. By now you know the history of this song from the comments. Although Dimash is one of a kind I think it's worth checking out French talent show winner Gregory LeMarchand's live version of this song just before his death at the age of 23 a few years ago due to cystic fibrosis. He is a folk hero in France due to his brave struggle with the disease and his performance of this particular song is incredibly touching and emotional due to the circumstances of his life.

Dimash had an AMAZING concert at Barclays this past December, in my opinion, the BEST concert I have ever attended. He sings in Kazakh, Russian, Chinese, English, Italian, French, and other languages; he is just super talented/gifted. All his songs are AWESOME!!! This is episode 1 from Singer 2017, a reality music competition for established professional singers strictly by invitations. In the second episode of same competition, Dimash sang Vitas' song Opera 2......he outsang Vitas by inserting staccatos and modulated 2/3 times higher than Vitas.

The show, I am Singer, was aired in early 2017. Dimash was chosen as a wildcard performer, competing against established and well-known Chinese singers. The audience of 500 chose their favorite performances, and though no one (including the other singers) had ever heard Dimash, he won Episode 1... and several more. I urge you to follow his journey in Singer 2017, and then in chronological order. You will be surprised to see how much he improves over time. It's an amazing journey!!!

The video you have watched is Dimash's first debut in Chinese TV singing competition series "The Singer" back to 2017. It's a live performance in front of 500+ audiences in a TV studio. Even before that, he has already won multiple singing competitions. He is well-known in China and Russia and has done his first solo concert in the Barclays Center in NY on December 10, 2019. @@Ulterrior , я не говорю про фейковые видосики. Есть видео его выступления на концерте, посвященному 9 Мая, где не только он сам, но и оркестр выступают под фонограмму!!!! Так же использование фонограммы выдает его абсолютно расслабленное лицо, горло, рот во время пения. Профессиональные вокалисты знают, как поставить язык, челюсть и вообще весь аппарат для извлечения нужного звука. У Витаса этого нет. И ещё момент: однозвучное исполнение на протяжении всех лет. Витас никогда не выступает а капелла или без микрофона. Я не против самого Витаса, я против обмана.

This was from 2017, when Dimash was just 22 years old. He's from Kazakhstan, singing a French song, on a Chinese talent show, for professional singers. He was the youngest competitor, and the only foreigner. He was the first singer that night, and completely unknown to the Chinese audience. They weren't expecting much from him. He proceeded to blow their freakin' minds! LOL

Great reaction loved it. SOS was the first performance by Dimash on the Chinese show called The singer 2017. Dimash was actually brought back as a wild card after failing to secure a place in the auditions. The original singer was Frenchman Daniel Balanoine. The song was written in 1978 by Michael Berger and Luc Plamondon specifically to suit Daniel's voice and also for the rock opera Starmania. The song became very popular in France and so did Michael. Sadly he was killed in a helicopter crash in 1986 while on a charity mission in Africa. As others have already mentioned Dimash's 2nd performance on the show was of Opera 2 by Vitas. Well worth checking out. I think Dimash did 14 performances on the singer show, all worth a look if you like to be blown away by talent. After that you can start looking a concert performances by Dimash. in the Gakku concert Russia in the song written by Dimash he actually his a D8 note. Check it out, that's a dolphin note to be heard by dogs maybe. I have never heard a singer/performer like this ever, he is something quite extraordinary and I consider myself lucky to be able to witness this. You might have fun listening to Opera 2 by Vitas then listening to Dimash's cover. A sort of compare/contrast. They do have distinctly different styles, and I think Vitas's version is really interesting - less classical-sounding than Dimash. I say nothing about the number or modulations (wink wink nudge nudge).

This was ep 1 of Singer 2017, a Chinese show featuring mostly well known/professional artists, mainly from China, Dimash was invited as the wildcard, following success in his own country Kazakhstan, he was the youngest competitor ever on the Singer at 22yrs old, he was totally unknown to the other artists and the Chinese audience. The other contestants hadn't even seen him rehearse so their reactions in the green room were the same as yours! This was a cover of a song from a 1970's French musical "Starmania". Episode2 is a cover of the Vitas song "Opera 2", he absolutely knocked the Vitas version out of the park, so much so Dimash was threatened with a lawsuit from Vitas banning him from singing it again. You've also done well with your views for this vid in two days … Power of Dimash!!! I hope you will continue reacting to Dimash and the Singer 2017 performances are a good place to start, since then he has done the most phenomenal performances in concerts, galas and promotional appearances and you will get more amazed if you continue to follow him. first of all, i really like your reaction through the whole video and you are right at 7:43 it's a powerful song i believe there's a same video of this Dimash's S.O.S but with translation on it... and that is my first video of Dimash, seeing him performing and reading the translation it's almost like it took me deep into the meaning of this song itself. his body language acting the situation in the lyrics and the voice just spot on , low in despair, high in pain then it end with comforting.

DImash (now 25), born with an extra-long larynx, his mother an opera singer, opera training since age 5, has a 6-octave range. he is already a master technician. Many singers have been called "once in a lifetime" voices. Dimash is a "once in a millennium" voice.

"The Singer" is an annual Chinese TV show for highly respected singers to compete. Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan is 6ft 3 and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. Because of his age and the fact he was a wild card selection, he was asked to perform first. No pressure!! This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on TV to approximately 600 million people he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is now a world class artist and just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, (on hold until next year due to Covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition with a top mark of 100%. He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down for a more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet.
