It's really impressive to hear a singer that seems to have complete and utter control over their voice. Even though very different, Dimash comes to mind when I see and hear what AJ can do with her voice. The voice box is a musical wind instrument after all. AJ seems to have been gifted with a Strativari voice box as well as perfect pitch. How she has refined, molded, and learned to play that instrument is all on her.

What can I say, this is a new and fantastic live version of the song, with the wonderful echoes of the church that make it even more magical her voice, I would listen endlessly to her wonderful and powerful voice with that incredible low register of her and those wonderful progressions, I admire her fantastic musical sensitivity more and more, it seems impossible, but every song, simple or complex, which she rediscover becomes a new and splendid song. For me she is simply unique and with an incredible melodic perception. I love this composed and passionate performance, it's absolutely healing for the soul but even so crossed by an incredible musical power and structure, I love when in the second part, the soft background accompaniment of the piano and cello gives a wonderful and silky backdrop at her incredible voice. 💛🧡❤

We now know that the 8 songs that Angelina worked on with Toby, including Bad Valentine, were done in 2022. So If I Were a Boy was recorded well after that. Whether or not they have worked on new material since, we don’t really know.

❤️❤️❤️❤️👣 If there is a more emotive female vocalist alive today than Angelina Jordan, I really wish someone would tell me who that would be because Angelina holds the title for this in my 65 year old book. I would have possibly said Janis Joplin, but alas, there will never be another note from Janis. I just commented on another channel about another of Angelina's performances that I honestly believe that Angelina at her current age has quite possibly forgotten more about singing than some commercially successful singers have ever known. My 75 year old cousin and I are flying out to LA next month from Texas to see Angelina's concert and then flying back home that same evening. My cousin's son told her, " You guys can't do that. you're too old. You'll kill yourselves." I surely hope he is wrong about that, but there is no one else on this planet who I would do this for who is not named Angelina Jordan. Since I accidentally found her about a year ago, my musical universe has greatly expanded by not only listening to everything I can find of hers but also by tracing back her influences. It has been a wonderful and joyous experience, and I am just so grateful that she exists and that I happened upon her. Thank you, God, for this fine young woman and her genuine example of kindheartedneess, humility, and charity. If anyone truly deserves success and acclaim, it is this young lady.😊❤

A cover only in the sense that what Beyoncé made was a cover of the song written by BC Jean and Toby Gad, originally performed by Jean in 2008. Beyoncé's cover was that same year. In this video the pianist is Toby Gad .. yes the same co-writer of the song .. the Piano Diaries are a celebration of his hit songs.
