Epic is a micro genre within metal including use synthesized orchestras (sometimes live ones), fast tempo. He does not have a classical training he is self taught mainly from a book and listening to a lot of music/different singers if I remember it right. (He did go to a musical theatre high school though). He plays a around 8-10 different instruments and do everything by himself, play all instruments/vst, arrange, procure, mix, choirs, filming and editing and on top of that he is a really good at making artwork as well.

You have to hear him singing ABBA the winner takes it all, one of us, Queen, phantom of the opera. He does it all by himself. He sings so much better than this. Plays over 10 instrument and does everything by himself.
