Niiiice, I love music theory since I find it helps really understand one's instrument range and the way to cover music or compose quickly if I personally am having trouble come up w/ things on my own, theory like what you have given here is such useful fallback and can help make good sounding music. Thanks!

This is very helpful, thank you so much. Can I also know how to figure out a note that can be stuck throughout the scale, like for example the A major scale, the A note can be played throughout the entire chord progression of the A major scale.

Thank you Austin and Christopher. I am very familiar starting from C without memorising "WWHWWWH" and struggling to memorize others that include the black keys. What does it take to familiarize yourself with sharps and minors(mixing black and white keys)?

Hey Thabo, good question! The circle of 5ths really comes into play here. So if you can remember that each time you go around the circle, you're adding 1 sharp or flat to the next scale, and you can refer to the bottom of the chart to remember which sharps or flats belong in the scale. The sharp order is FCGDAEB The flat order if BEADGCF (sharp order reversed) So F major would have 1 flat (Bb), Bb major has 2 flats (Bb and Eb), and so on!

why do you have to go down 3 half tone's to find another scale of the each key?
@ChristopherSiu
@ChristopherSiu 2 жыл бұрын
It's a very simple way to find the relative minor of the major key. Alternatively, you can just find the 6th note of the major scale, which is the same tonic note of the relative minor!
