Great questions! Before we get into it, I want to thank my friend Nick Bellando at Hon-on Shakuhachi (link below) for allowing me to use some of his research to help make this video. Also, thanks for collaborating with me today and providing your skillful shakuhachi playing! At the end of this video I will go over and explain why this is important to us in our exploration of the relationship of shomyo to shakuhachi. Stay tuned for today’s conclusion.
