I'm using the HC11 as my main refrigerator still in 2020. I've got it from my parents who got it from their parents. It still works perfectly.

Cool. You should make a quick video to show off it’s vintage beauty.

How about a model with Wi-Fi connectivity? That INCREDIBLE moveable egg box blew my mind!!! You can put the eggs any place you feel like!

You kids don't realize what an innovation "frost free" actually was. Defrosting the fridge was a horrible job.

This frig pales in comparison to the features on the 1954 Westinghouse and doesn't hold even a candle to the 1956 Frigidaire. Both of those have pull out shelves and the '56 Frigidaire has an amazing, removable fruit/veggie holder...in the door!! A man designed this frig. He thinks that a egg holder where you have to stack the eggs (making them more susceptible to breaking) is better. He must be related to the man who designed my kitchen (which I renovated, thank Heaven.)

Whirlpool was relatively new to the refrigerator game at this point. They always made a quality refrigerator though.

I wonder why new fridges don't have shelves that swing out? Seems like a good idea. I'm sure something went wrong that I am not thinking of.

When they used to be a subsidiary of RCA.
@patcola73359 ай бұрын
@@luisreyes1963Whirlpool was never a subsidiary of RCA. They used RCA's name because Whirlpool bought one of their appliance divisions. The name Whirlpool was relatively new in the 1950s and early 60s so the RCA name gave them more recognition. Sears was a major factor in the growth of whirlpool as Whirlpool built all their washers and dryers for them.

So why do freezers need a lock on their door? 😕

I like this old ad a lot better than the modern stuff, but that third-rate crooner gets tiresome pretty quickly!
