This frig pales in comparison to the features on the 1954 Westinghouse and doesn't hold even a candle to the 1956 Frigidaire. Both of those have pull out shelves and the '56 Frigidaire has an amazing, removable fruit/veggie holder...in the door!! A man designed this frig. He thinks that a egg holder where you have to stack the eggs (making them more susceptible to breaking) is better. He must be related to the man who designed my kitchen (which I renovated, thank Heaven.)

The name Whirlpool was relatively new in the 1950s and early 60s so the RCA name gave them more recognition. Sears was a major factor in the growth of whirlpool as Whirlpool built all their washers and dryers for them.
