Anika Noni Rose apparently got her start in that hot mess of a teen comedy called From Justin To Kelly. Although the movie was made to cash in on Clarkson's success from winning the season of American Idol, Anika was the most charismatic character in it. She went on to do better things Dreamgirls with Queen Bey and JHud and Princess and The Frog as one of my favourite Disney princesses Tiana, who is smart, hard working and ambitious.

I wish there was a clearer recording without all the background noise, besides the movie soundtrack edited in a studio. She sounded good, what I could hear at least. Great breath control, she held that note forever. Just joined late last night. So what are the requirements for"Musical Theater Monday" does it have to be from musical movie/ TV show or Broadway show or can it be covers of them? If it only has to be a showtune cover then there are quite a few artists that have done good covers. For example Rise Up Children's Choir did "Speachless" from Aladdin, Claire Crosby did a Disney Princess medley sponsored by Disney themselves and I would love to hear your critique for a young artist's cover of "Loyal Brave and True" named Sadie Emolyn.
