Christ Janet, your musical taste leaves a lot to be desired if disco and Abba are the only remnants of the seventies you find interesting - Some of the greatest music ever produced was put out then - Bowie, Queen, Elton John, The Clash, The sex pistols, The stranglers, American Punk, Chicago, Cat Stevens, Blondie, Led Zeppelin, T rex, Rolling Stones, The Ramones, The Eagles, Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, The Jackson 5, Supertramp, Talking Heads and on and on it goes. It is perhaps the greatest ever decade for music.

The genres were immense, Progrock, Punk both UK and USA, Country Rock, Heavy Metal, Also Heavy Rock, Glamrock, New wave (Gary Newman etc), Ska, Reggae, Disco. Mod revival (The Jam). And regarding my moniker - Northern Soul!! The 1st Underground dance movement that established itself in the UK. Was the forerunner to house music and raves. Disco was late to the party and so was street dancing!! KTF
