She was my, as she was for many, Texas 'bluebonnet spring'. Beautiful in story, song and life. I grieve for losing her, but she leaves a legacy of intelligence, beauty and truth that will endure. Her art triumphs over death, and lives through all who remain to live and love that beauty and truth. A marvelous legacy for a very lovely lady and gifted artist, communicator. And that beautiful crystalline voice that was such a comfort in a troubled world. She was unique, and uniquely a Texan. But her love was for everyone. Farewell, my beautiful Texas 'bluebonnet spring'.

Too bad she became so political towards the end.
@karenstinnett3 жыл бұрын
She never changed one bit. She wore an LBJ button on her guitar strap for decades, wrote music about human rights and talked about issues constantly.. She was exactly who she always was and didn’t “become” anything different from that. For instance, in 1989: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmnOgalprJ2baZY

@@karenstinnett She became a lot more vocal about her leftism and then started in on Donald Trump. She seemed very lost at the end.
@karenstinnett3 жыл бұрын
@@kellyoradio5029 she was never lost. She had convictions that were always the same, perhaps you just recently noticed them. Were you actually surprised Nanci Griffith didn’t support the previous president? If you were you must have never known her. Saying “too bad she became political” is like saying too bad she was from Austin, Texas. It was who she was, her identity always.
@kellyoradio50293 жыл бұрын
@@karenstinnett She became a lot more vocal, then. Give Afghanistan, a lot of people are rethinking Trump's policies. But although I am a fan, I was very surprised she insisted on making her dislike of him an important part of her appearances. I lost respect because it just seemed trendy. Not all of us want politics to be mixed into everything we consume. And yes, she did seem lost the last few times I tuned into her appearances.
@karenstinnett3 жыл бұрын
@@kellyoradio5029 I see that you feel the need to express your support for the former president, here under tributes to Nanci, (is this is the place to talk about, say, Afghanistan?) but you haven’t showed how she changed, I mean when he was elected that changed and she responded to it, or in what way this means she was “lost”. Is anyone who disagrees with you “lost”? I saw her live many times and she was talking about her principles from the first time until the last time. She knew exactly where she was. You didn’t like her talking about things you disagree with, fair enough.
