@Rayluquin you cant record thru vdj to your computer because the mixer on the mixdeck is analog and not midi therefor it doesnt send data back to the comp. the easiest way is to have an ipod and plug it to your mixdeck and record to that , second way is by going thru the record out into your computer if its set to record like that or have an external recording device ..... hope that helps

@prayzmanone yea traktor scratch pro or pro 2 require turntables and a mixer that you have to own or buy and then you have to buy traktors audio interface and vinyl records they sell, then with the traktor SCRATCH pro 2 software you control whatever digital mp3 trakcs your mixing with the REAL VINYL TURNTABLES giving you the real FEEL and sound of scratching and mixing traks on a vinyl records without having to lug around or buy vinyl after vinyl , lol i hope i made sense

thx for the info man, that works for me. I think i'm still addicted to Torq though. Traktor kinda has a lot of unnecessary stuff on it but it's still better than Virtual Dj in some ways

@parkster08 yes it comes with a power cord, those cords where usb, power cord, & speaker cords, and no worries thats why im making these videos for people who are beggining to get into this ....no the ipod plug in only lets you play the songs and does not let you mix directly from the ipod it just works as a dock and recorder .....

@RocketDescends so you are getting no sound out your headphones mix ?? are you turning the cue headphones knob up ?? and the cue source needs to be to ch 1/2 if you dont want the crowd to hear what your loading up to sync next, and master if you want to hear exactly whats coming from your speakers .... if any questions send me a message with more detail if poss.

@alewis1210 yea it seems that way but practice makes perfect, i use traktor pro & vdj , soon to get into serato, but i prefer traktor because the beat grid lines are far more accurate than the blocks on vdj and the blocks on vdj dont even cue up on the first kick or a snare hit which means you have to mix by ear matching the tempo by ear but its not impossible thats how dj-ing started out with NO SCREEN to see what your beatgriding , ive learned to mix that way when i was stuck with vdj lol ...

after all this i still think torq is the joint hands down, I 've never used serato but i've used all the rest & they are a waist. The only thing I think is cool now is Djay on the mac with the lil hercules controller that's dope

@threeonone you could use them thru traktor but not the mixdeck because the hardware in the mixdeck isnt set for traktor ..... im sure you could map it tho but im not to fond with how to do that yet, ill try to see and if i do ill letchu know

@DJDonyk what program are you using , and you could still crossfade with the program just make sure your using the numark mixdecks sounddriver for output routing and you wont see the faders move visually on the computer UI but its fading, yes you could use the mixer w/out computer and just speakers, im going to be posting more videos subscribe if you want, hope that helped and anything else just ask away lol

Hehe learning something new on the go. Anyways i bough Numark mixdeck and am disapointed (kind off) reason is its's not MIDI supported so basically you cant crossfade with a program on a computer (whole mixer,middle part doesnt work). Now my question is can you use crossfader/mixer w/o computer just with speakers.?

@ticklekitten sorry for the late reply, if your answer hasnt beem answered yet ill answer it ill answer it tomorrow im not home lol, but as far as i know yes the hot cues should work on flashdrives and hard drives cause the numark is compatible with accepting a mass hard drive .....

@prayzmanone yea i agree m-audio does an excellent job at finding the CORRECT BPM unlike both traktor and vdj , traktor bpms good to an extent, vdj doent really at all lol, and torq ive never used for mixing just to get the correct bpm and its GOOD for that lol but im still yet to buy the software

@prayzmanone traktor pro is exactly the opposite of traktor scratch lol you dont need there interface or vinyl records or turntables , if you dont like to scratch when doing mixes or being a scratch dj and just prefer mixing the tracks together without all of that then traktor pro is made specifically for that, having the digital platters and scratching on those is not the same as scratching on Vinyls

I am a noob here. I just bought the mixdeck. Wondering I have the latest version of VDJ LE. I know how to cue up a song, but I cannot seem to hear it in my headphones. I only get the song playing out in both ear pieces. Any help?

So I just bought this its my first controller Im trying to map my deck to a program and Traktor 2 is just being a bitch. I have virtual DJ and it auto maps but does not get all the knobs and buttons automatically. Did you get Serato or are you still useing a different program. If you want friend me on facebook Devin C. Grobbel I would really appriciate some input and advice. In the Detroit area iv found a lot of cool people willing to help but you have the same controller I do.
