I had never thought of doing it that way. And then I can also use my external mic for better audio. I have FCP7 so that'll work too for editing. Last time I recorded my screen on my mac, I used my external mic and no audio from anywhere. I use it seldom so I never explored any of the options, really. Now I feel silly ;)

I deleted my last question and this one is more important but I don’t want to bombard you with questions so. I have used QuickTime before and the way I was taught on a previous tutorial was to open the record movie and then that just records the cam. But I never change anything when that movie screen open I’m basically using it for the cam which the screen capture will record for me. I had not heard of this way but I did think it seemed odd to not click record on the movie but I also understood the screen capture was actually recording for me. Maybe they taught me that because the audios hey mixed up or IDK. I’m just trying to figure out the better way.

I think Quicktime may work on Windows, actually: support.apple.com/kb/DL837?locale=en_US But Loom is another great screen-recording tool (and it's browser-based, so it works for all computers): www.useloom.com/

How do you adjust the quality of the recording since it hogs up a lot of space. How do I reduce the resolution to maybe 720p?

Hey, Leo. After you finish recording, go up to File » Export as... From there you can select the video resolution. (Lower resolution will make the file size smaller.)

You mean after you record the video, or at the same time? If the former, I'd recommend using iMovie.
