I guess you already know that this is a novel written by Dr. Jose Rizal he is Philippine national hero and this novel Noli Me tangere and Elfilibusterismo which is written based on how is Filipinos before. Everything you see here and the way they act, the way how they looks like, the foods and their beliefs is what it is before. The flow of the story is also the history of Philippines on what it is happening during Spanish era. This is not just a novel it is really based in real life. Women is really religious before and people before are really conservative please understand it and no need for debate why klay can't be with crisostomo. And the way you said that it's not just a man who's supposed to be courting the woman but also woman can court whenever they want and I understand that because we are already in a modern but that it is before here in ph and this novel is not based in todays year it is really long time ago. I'm glad that a foreign like you reacts to the novel of our national hero and I hope you learn a lot on what it is before. Sorry for my English it's not my first language 😊
