Amazing singer. I've seen this performance before and I really have to applaud her. There's not even a comparison to any other versions because this is the most heavenly of all of them. Kudos also to the choir and the backdrop for making the performance even more majestic and surreal. I hope people would stop fighting and just accept the fact that this was indeed an awesome performance by an artist who deserves every praise she would get. If you think she's screaming, try screaming the same lines and see if you'll ever get the same result. There's so much control and polishness to those high notes that it is just dumb to say she's merely screaming.

Aside from her own vocal prowess, I think what lent added quality to the rendition of this song by So Hyang was the audience who were engrossed in the solemnity of her delivery, with the absence of screaming/clapping interruptions while she was in it and which we usually hear from some of the Asian singers featured in your reaction videos. BTW, just my take. And well done!

Butt hurt Filipinos? Filipino here and proud to report, NOT BUTTHURT! Absolutely LOVED the performance! While I may not quite prefer So Hyang's other performances (mainly because of the overall musical organization, and her tendency to not moderate her power as well as I would like in accordance to the song's theme, i.e. Lean on Me. This is not to say I think she lacks in her vocal range, emotion or technique, I just feel that sometimes for other songs, she uses them in ways that aren't as effective as they could be, with this song being the pinnacle of what I have heard her sing), I could not get over how beautifully she controlled her voice to pull me into this song. Rarely would I say I find a song near flawless, but I can say such with assurance that this song, for me, comes closest. Judging by the feeling I felt listening and watching this performance, I found myself easily lost in the angelic lilt of her voice in the beginning, sung pitch perfect, till she let her engines (metaphorically speaking) start revving. Boy did she let it ROAR, and absolutely blew me away! The little riffs on the higher notes, to the expertly navigated slides down. So Hyang's diction is so good as well, I think this is the best rendition of the song by pretty much everyone. The FEELING she evoked with her precise use of power in certain points drove home the message of the song for me, and just left me mesmerized by the spectacle that was her performance. A personal reason now for why I prefer So Hyang in this song, and consider it as a pinnacle performance for most singers, is that after hearing many Asian and non-Asian belters and high range singers, (before I continue, all have the chops to be called A class and all generally have the range and technique to called so), this performance is a standard for how much is really needed to change and expand on a song, and not overdo it by throwing unnecessary runs, belts, and high notes. So Hyang has done an exceptional job not being boring and just going along with typical predictable belter performance, and the song benefits from it, as it is still recognizable, but so fresh. The female reactor's reaction of having 'goosebumped' over 10 times is a good example. So Hyang managed to surprise us over and over again, while not overdoing it, not overly changing the melody, not giving and negative surprises, and instead, singing the whole song with such sincerity you can't help be go along and get lost in it. As a side note, I love the way the performance was filmed, especially when she hits that final high note and the camera slides closer, moving under a light that whites out the screen till she is in full view... WOW. Almost a movie cinematic finish!
