She's amazing. But she needs to improve her diction and learn to put the right emotions to the song. Singing is not only hitting the notes but how you convey the story behind the song. On the other hand, she has pipes. Yeah, we may have goosebumps because only few singers can have such power on their voices but how you moved your audience based on the quality of your voice is another thing. She's still young and can improve herself to be a better performer. Other than that, she's still great!

Her diction is fine, hell, she teaches her students to enunciate properly to help support your notes and remove tension. She's actually fluent in English, you can go check out concert videos or her talking to Michael Bolton/Kirk Franklin she sounds fine. You don't have to sound like linguists to be understood. Emotions are clearly subjective because from what I see from her interpretation, she's like an awesome friend who would still be at her most upbeat self to cheer you up at times when you are sad and this made the song more happy and fun to listen to.

Ok So Hyang is not a girl! She’s a 41 year old woman, and a survivor of cancer. She’s also a long time singer, but in hiding. I think she’s now coming out of her shadows, but she was invited to sing the American National anthem in America once and has also sang with some american gospel artists. So she’s been here lol

So Hyang said this was one of her hardest performances Because She Adores Michael Bolton... and to Get to sing his Song while being in Front of and to Him.....And she nailed it ..... and on a closing interview Michael Bolton was so impressed asked her to use it ....in some of his performances Kim, So Hyang has always struggled with her health during her lifetime with those many illnesses.. uterine cancer, hepatitis, chronic pneumonia, etc.. The night she sung You Raise Me Up She just got out of Hospital and was advised Not to sing...So she did that....lol It's really a miracle this one of the most skilled vocalist of all time could be in such poor condition. And definitely she is much more than great technician and has Perfect Control of Her Gift...and Her singing is so special. So Being a Cancer survivor And still gets sick from Time to time. But is an Amazing Artist who gave up a Kpop career to sing for the Lord and for the Love of Music instead of stardom. She learned English as a Child from Disney Movies, which inspired her to Write two of her Books...(both Published and there are more). Also And Publicly thanks Mariah Carey for teaching her everything she Knows about Music ... that is some Testament to The Power of Music AS FANS AND ADMIRERS WE PRAY FOR HER CONTINUED IMPROVEMENTS IN HER HEALTH

I am a Filipino but I think most pinoys are butthurt with sohyang's vocal ability because they feel threatened that she might be better than their idol, Regine.. I love Regine, but I don't think it's fair for sohyang to be called 'nasal', her sound isn't nasal, more of like 'twang'. Her technique is impeccable. I don't know much about sohyang aside from her high vocal prowess and her runs. her belting is on point but the way she hit/attack those high notes, makes me think that she's screaming/yelling. she needs to improve her diction. but when commenting base on her performance she's great and she's still young to improve her skills. on regine's side, it's proven that she's the Asia's songbird. from her lows she can expand it to the highest that are extremely incomparable. her vocal prowess is superB. different techniques compare to sohyang technique. she can sing any kind of genre songs. she can do theater,! she's an artist. Regine sets a standard in the Philippines when it comes to singing. she's an icon.

Thank you for your precious reaction. Singer Sohyang is a precious treasure of South Korea and a gift from heaven. She had a hard time a long time ago. So she knows that she should be grateful for a given life rather than wealth and honor. She sings with all her heart even if she sings a single song in hopes that the souls of those who are left out or tired will listen to this song and comfort her.
