With all due respect, and with all her amazing videos, I think you shouldn't say that she's lipsyncing. Because she's not. How would you know? You're not even a singer and you haven't been following her since she started singing. Your reactions are quite good BUT be careful for what you say cuz a lot of Filipino people are amazed by her (well you know how high the standards of Filipino when it comes to singers and you don't make us do standing ovations easily since we are exposed to world-class Filipino singers in our country). Be careful. We respect her talent. Katrina is one of a kind, dude. Just react, don't say false stuff.

She wasn’t lipsynching. Hear me out. I think what she did is she sung this live while listening to the song in one ear. The video then only recorded her voice with no background music, just her singing. She then stripped the vocals off the recorded video and cleaned it compressed it and what not. Then once the vocals got polished, she added it back to the same video and added the background music she was listening to. I do this a lot of times and no I dont call that lipsynching, just resourcefulness as she did this in her room not in a recording studio.

Benn, how convenient and certain of you to say that to Katrina as if she is a music editor or technician like what you said of yourself, stripping, cleaning, compressing, polishing, adding and all that stuffs. Will Katrina went to all that hustles when she can just play the minus-one and let her cam (whether its a high-end celfone or HD Videocam) do the recordings? It's as simple as that. Maybe you're right, I can't really tell 'coz I wasn't there. But I have faith in Katrina's and all the Pinoy Singers' vocal dynamics.

chatt cedric lol i didnt mean to say she did all of that herself and the reason why i thought it was done that way is because the way her voice sounded in this vid it has an added reverb to it while the instrumental sounded natural. If it’s edited by a non pro, it would look like the singer is lipsynching as what it seemed in this vid but I can definitely say with confidence she didnt lip this. Adding reverb to a video recording would mess up the whole thing. She must have someone doing all the editng for her or perhaps she does the edits on her own because we’ve seen her do bedroom recordings all the time and it is not farfetched for her to have learned to do the things Ive mentioned. But who knows maybe I’m just overthinking in defense of her.

I agree with you in some points. But you see, reverb and echo are standard enhancements here in the Philippines, especially in all Videoke (Karaoke) machines, but not Autotune since it is costly. Reverb can be produced naturally in an enclosed surroundings like bedroom or bathroom, unless the room is soundproofed. Maybe Katrina was the one editing for all we know, but you see it needs expertise and entails costly technical gadgets. I think she has friends to help her out with the editings and all that stuffs.

Jessa, whoever or wherever you are, you must first know the music/singing culture of Pilipinos (if you are a Pilipino, you should know). Using the word "sin" is just a figure of speech meaning "a No-No". Besides, this one is not a Music Video (MV). In the Philippines there are myriads of talents who are competing/vying each other in order for them to be recognized, and to do this is to show/flaunt one's real talents and not hide or cheat the audience, otherwise, better sing in the bathroom. Katrina, like the many other Pilipina Singers featured on YT have been singing live for so many, many years in competitions, bars/lounges, concerts and to say that they are lipsyncing or using autotune is unfair, demeaning and humiliating not only to their persons but also to their nurtured God given talents. Pilipinos always sing live either on videos or concerts, except of course while Filming Music Videos and most importantly those who can't really sing but a only a celebrity who just want to please their die-hard fans, we call it the "trying-hards". Those bashers and haters are nothing but prejudistic to singers they don't like even if the singers are really good, either because they have limited knowledge or don't know about the dynamics of music or are die-hard fans of other singers. They have one-track minds and don't appreciate other talents, or should I say "fanatics". They only comments to enjoy their bashings and hatings. Talents are talents whoever and wherever they are and must be appreciated and not bashed nor hated.

Oh come on guys, calm down.. Ovela did not say she is using autotune. He even said that if she really did use autotune, the pitch problem on the certain part of the recording wouldn't have been noticeable. Since the pitchy part was clear then it is pretty sure that SHE WAS NOT USING AUTOTUNE. Ovela said she is lipsyncing. Well yes, I agree on that to some extent. I think that this is pre-recorded since a regular earphones' mic cannot produce a clear and clean quality of recording like this. She was lipsyncing her OWN voice. And there's nothing wrong about that.

If you'll maximize the volume at the beginning where she started singing, you would hear the background noise. It's clearly not a lipsync. If you have an exceptional voice, you would not need an expensive microphone. Earphone is just enough for Katrina.

Hold your horses guys. When Ovela said she is lipsyncing, he didnt mean anything wrong. And it's not what you guys think. Obviously Kat lipsynced her own voice/performance for the sake of having a good video. Again, this is her voice and this is her singing, she just needs to record a better quality video. Also, Ovela didnt say she used auto-tune. He said she did not use auto-tune which was evident when one part of the performance got pitchy, it wouldnt be pitchy if they use auto-tune.
