The Opening Ceremony (November 30, 2019) will give u goosebumps Ovela..They showcase the Filipino culture and tradition. As a Filipino I feel like crying while watching it, it makes me feel so proud to be PINOY🇵🇭! FYI, the 30th SEA GAMES in the Philippines was made history having the most number of sports in the history of games. And in the same date November 30, 2018 the TNT Boys made history as the youngest sold out performer. Your chipmunks made history twice. Im very proud👏👏🇵🇭

Thanks too! Lea Salonga originally sang this song for SEA Games, there's a video of it too. But she's out of the country for a musical show at the moment. Apl was also part of the actual torch lighting activity done days before the opening ceremony. We were also wishing for zoomed in shots of the artists but they have to showcase the entire stage.

Lea salonga sang the official SEA games theme song in the official music video. She has a concert tour in australia as of the moment. The organizers chose to mix GMA and ABS CBN artists in the spirit of unity... We win as one.. The theme song was composed by national artist for music maestro Ryan Cayabyab

The backdrop during this song is actually symbolic. In our national anthem, there’s a line which says “alab ng puso sa dibdib mo’y buhay” - this means “our hearts ablaze”. Basically saying that our love for our country will never die, our hearts are on fire to fight for our freedom. It was written when we were being colonized by the Spaniards. I could not disagree with your comments Ovela, the performance was lit! Some of those performers you dont know were one of our power musical theater performers like Mr. Seña. Anna Fegi is also one hell of a belter that you dont see much on television. The different patterns you saw on the screen are patterns from different Filipino indigenous tribes, even the clothes the performers wore were indigenous inspired. Regine and Lea are the top choices of the organizers to perform at the opening but they had to decline because of schedule unavailability. Fun Trivia: Regine has already sang during the 1991 SEA GAMES Opening in Manila. She sang the theme song then and she was like 21 back then. This time, she had to decline because she cannot commit to a strict regular rehearsal schedule spanning 2-3 weeks prior to the Nov 30 opening day, as she was in Rome, Italy for the ASAP show abroad during those weeks. Lea, on the other hand, has a Sweeney Todd play in Singapore from Nov 29 onwards. She plays the lead actress in that play.
