When I wear my Aurora t-shirt, either people have zero idea who she is....or they can't help themselves as they start gushing about how Aurora is literally their favorite human being on the planet. lol....I get it though. And the handful of Aurora fans my t-shirt has allowed me to meet....always ALWAYS end up being some of the coolest smartest kindest people I've ever met. She was discovered after someone posted on social media a video of Aurora ( real name Aurora Aksnes) singing at school. She never planned on becoming an artist. Some cool things about this video.... Aurora and her sister both designed _and made_ her outfit. Aurora art directed the video. Aurora hand painted all the masks in the video. Also...in the Exist for Love video, that super expensive looking pearl headdress she's wearing? She ransacked her closet, found every pearl she owned, and hand made the headdress herself. She does a _lot_ of DIY stuff that you might not assume is her. Also much of the album artwork for the LPs EPs and singles are paintings she made herself. She doesn't talk about that side of things a ton...but I love how personally invested she is in her visual world. I'd actually love to see her do even _more_ of that. But....I get that she's got plenty on her plate and sometimes you have to delegate things out to others. But all my favorite musical artists are people who _also_ are the main creative force behind the visual elements. Whether that's Adam Jones directing all of Tool's videos or Jack White developing the entire aesthetic of The White Stripes. It just makes their musical world feel so much more visceral and personal.
@avedic Жыл бұрын
On the flip side....I'm a huge _huge_ fan of the band Silverchair. Their 3rd, 4th(especially), and 5th albums are modern masterpieces. Daniel Johns is a legit musical genius. But...........ALL of their visuals were handled by other people, and it shows. The visual representation of that band did _not_ match the brilliance of the music. I always thought that was a shame because this incredible music was never visually represented well. Anyway....I'm ranting. I clearly feel strongly about this topic lol... ;P

Hi mate that was a great reaction video and it seems that you are already familiar with her stuff. One of the most amazing videos and certainly one of my top videos EVER is the brilliant Nidarosdomen concert in that cathedral in Trondheim Norway. It is absolutely beautiful in all ways and it was recorded in December in 2017. It has a string orchestra, a male choir, a harp, the church organist and her own brilliant band but most of all she absolutely owns the stage with singing and presence. As an old guy who came up during the birth of rock, and who has been GREATLY impressed with the "upper end" of modern music, I found "just the music" here to be catchy, well executed and FUN, but not remarkable. @@StrateleStudios The Teardrop performance was done ad hoc - as in not knowing what song to do until 1 hour before shooting it. Same thing she and her band did with Boney M's Rasputin, this time they used 15 minutes to decide their take on it. And it's very different, but lovely.

Aurora said the song does not represent the album. It is quite separate, but it joins the story of the whole album. Aurora herself finds the dance quite ugly in a beautiful way. 😁 The song in general goes against institutes that offer a so-called cure for homosexuality/bisexuality. In doing so, she is directly affects the topic. And of course it should increase self-confidence and self-esteem for everyone who needs it. I think that she's also pointing the (middle)finger at her critics and against people who call others crazy or creepy or laugh at them just because they dress differently, have ticks or otherwise fall out of the norm. All movements that are otherwise involuntary with her, she makes here with full intention. Her wide open eyes, her hand movements, Shaking her head and her involuntary twitches. Everything is clearly highlighted with the camera in various separate settings. That didn't have to be so it was intentional. "I don't need a cure for me" Furthermore, Aurora is the only one without a mask. She is the one who shows her true self and does not hide. Everyone else wears one and seems to bury Aurora in the sequence in which she looks almost panicked into the camera. Which for me is an indication of bullying. She painted the masks herself and her sister made her outfit. It should also create a bridge to "Exist for love". I think the "Exist for love" reference at the very beginning (Aurora in the Crystal Ball on the Shell) had its reason. The song was also criticized. That wouldn't be Aurora and why is she singing such a song? Why only love between man and woman? And so on. The usual stupid talk. The apple is from the Garden of Eden (the forbidden fruit and sin) and Aurora likes to bite in.😁. Which brings us to the Christian faith and its views on what love between two people should look like. In addition, the apple could also be a reference to the sentence she once said in an interview. Why can't there be a wish inside an apple? Anything is possible if you believe in it. 😁 And by the way, the video is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. The dance in corus and the visual. The sound in the chorus seems to be inspired by old video games. Aurora released a mini game shortly before, which also included exactly this sound. In general, there are many special details in the video that have meaning. The black and white floor on which she dances or the glued 7 and 9 angular stars in her face and on the floor. 7-star: 7 is a divine number and stands for the 7 chakras, 7 days or 7 sacraments etc. It also symbolizes perfection and connects spirit and matter in the universe. The seven star, also known as the heptagram, contains ancient knowledge and is considered a powerful protective symbol of the natural religions. People with the number 7 have a seventh sense and are farsighted and open to everything new. Or Aurora watched too much Game of Thrones. What she actually does. Then another explanation would be possible. 😁 9-star: The 9 gives us access to our inner and higher wisdom. The number nine symbolizes the power of creation, bliss and knowledge. In Buddhism, the nine is the highest spiritual power and the associated symbol is the nine star (enneagram), which is composed of a circle and triangles. People with the number 9 are warm, intelligent, wise counselors, and good listeners. A nine-pointed star also stands for perfection All features apply to Aurora
