Brian, what an awesome request and worth expediting! I knew I had heard them before so I went looking. Jeff, how could you forget YOUR reaction to this group almost a year ago doing Skylark, set against the New York skyline??? Inventive, funny, and great musicianship. And now folks, WE HAVE ANOTHER WINNER!!!

I think they’re great. They do covers from “The Real Group” (one of my favorite jazz vocal groups). How High The Moon is a particularly good one. Thanks!

Holy cow they are great! Beautiful. So many cool things in this performance. Loved the descending chromatic part. And also their voices are so amazing together. Perfect mix

How can you not like jazzy harmonies. I think one would have to be tone deaf.

Not tone deaf. But definitely very traditional.

😊 They are really great. Don't know why but I'm getting a Christmas vibe from them. I'm a huge fan of Pentatonix so I'm kinda missing the beat boxing. Still very nice. I am a fan. 😊

Judging by your visual reaction, you realized at the five-second mark that this was going to be an aural treat. They are fabulous!

This is the natural evolution of the impact of “New York Voices” and “Rare Silk” on a new generation. And don’t forget that “Manhattan Transfer” was the godfather of all of this. Perhaps .001% of the population can do this. And a similar percentage appreciates it. I saw “Rare Silk” live at Red Rocks with the Transfer many years ago. It was a magical day for a relatively small group of us. Much like Dirty Loops, this kind of music should be encouraged and supported. Good on you to spotlight them. Now go hit the archives for the “New York Voices.” This happened once before.

Last one… kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5q0foCnipVno6ssi=ggScnHwDzTDu9Z3M It’s a genre worth exploring, as it definitely connected two or three generations in unexpected ways.

@DanSpomer: I'll admit, I'm a bit envious. I've seen/heard Manhattan Transfer live four or five times. But it's only in the last several years that I learned of and have heard recordings of Rare Silk. So that you heard both groups in concert together must have been extraordinary! I can see why you describe it as "magical."

@@dianewentz9400 definitely check out “New York Voices.” I would suggest starting with their album “What’s Inside.” Let me know what you think!
