I saw them live once and it was amazing !! All their performance live are like that ! The studio version are more close to the score and they don't deviate like that it's like the "official" version. But then their live version they take it to the next level and just have fun with it. They often go south for a long time before going back but it's what make it amazing !

Well this version was great too, but it lacked a few parts from the original "We like it here" recording like a few horn parts, some instrumentation, that simply wasn't there, that add a little bit of flavour into parts that now were relatively empty. Snarky is great live, but when they have like 30 people in the recording session and "only" 10-11 live there are parts, that you simply can't quite do. Still a great reaction and i still love this song and Shaun's Talkbox shenanigans :D

An acquaintance of mine is out on the road with them as a road manager right now. He just posted a photo of them at the Rialto Theater. I just messaged with him and he says they're off the chain. He's having a good time indeed.

When you have the time, listen to Sleeper - We Like it Here version. You'll appreciate the addition the rest of the guys bring to the "gaps" in this version of the song. Not saying this one's not dope. It's completely awesome as always but, that one is special!

oh ya, I've seen that version as well. It's outstanding. The thing I gravitate towards is the wonderful interaction the players had in this live version. Lots of heart. :)

Shaun definitely tailored his performances to the respective venues and audiences. This was definitely a trip, but the Kytopia version is so intimate and raw; this sounds like he's had time to loosen up and mess around with some different ideas!

You should check the songs where they are just the band - Laura Mvula 'Sing to the Moon' - it brings a tear to my eye every time also Becca Stevens 'I asked', Magda Giannikou - Amour T'es Là. More conventional for sure but just as great.

Actually, if you are feeling like changing the mood a little bit, you could check out Michael League originals: "In Your Mouth" or "Right Where I Fall". They are very different from the SP upbeat stuff, but they are absolutely charming (at least for me).

I wouldn't recommend straying from the I like it here versions, the solos are different in live versions because they like to improve. The I like it here versions are also the one that most of us know. Sometimes they change things on live versions and end up straying a bit to further from the album version

For me this live version is really lacking. Mix isn`t great. Its harder to hear how the different parts are supposed to be heard together. the improv is also ... well crazier and a bit nonsense xD was really hoping for the original. bit disappointed you chose this version as a first listen, it really isn't representative of the source material AT ALL and was obviously meant as less serious fun for people who already heard the original tune a million times before.

Shaun is the hype man in the group, its not showing off, its the crowd pleaser. This is what sent them over the top in europe. They play more tight to the cut most of the show, with solos varying. This is the hype song!
