Hi you have listened to Aurora for quite a while now and i am a big fan of your reactions but i was wondering if there is anything you have took from her professionally that has influenced you in your own work as a Producer /Musician ?

Great question. I’ve definitely noticed how much attention she pays to writing very strong choruses in her songs. The hooks are so prominent and it feels like that is the main pillar in the song and every else she adds is in support of that. Another thing I’ve taken away is how incredibly connected her lyrics are to the thing we all go through. She makes a point of letting us know we are in this together and she is one of us. “A Different Kind of Human” is one of her songs that absolutely guts me every time I hear it because I connect with what she’s saying so deeply. Lastly, the quality of everything she does is incredibly high which means she treats every single thing she does with the highest care and respect. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for asking!

This is one of my absolute favorite Aurora songs. As someone who struggles with the way humans treat the planet/wildlife, and their increasingly human-centric views, this song hits me right in a soft spot. The lyric " I wouldn't mind if I can't find any way to save our kind" really struck a chord with me. We shouldn't be saving the planet for just for humans, but out of respect for the very thing that gives us life.

A truly beautiful song which tends not to get enough exposure. Like all of Aurora's songs, its meaning is open to interpretation but when you read what Aurora says about it in one interview, it rips your heart out ... "It means a lot to me and it's written about giving too much. It's Mother Earth writing to humankind about wanting to thrive again. ..."

This whole 6-song concert broadcast was a wonder. Aurora interspersed comments between some of the songs, speaking, as she does, about the difficulties of being a human being and the challenges of life. She's so adept at performing before a band with synthesizer, guitar and drums, and also flowing with the beauty of orchestrated strings. Amazing!

This song gets overlooked far too often, but it is truly beautiful. I'm so glad she chose to do it for this orchestral set as it makes it even more emotional. This is a letter from Mother Nature to humankind. We are the soulless creatures. ps. Have you checked out Eivor at all? An incredible artist from the Faroe Islands. If not I would heartily recommend you react to 'Falling Free, Live from the Old Theatre, Torshavn." It will absolutely blow you away!!!

Also....I think this performance really showcases her stunningly good technique as a singer. It's crazy how *_relaxed_* she is throughout this.....and yet, it's SO powerful. At 2:51 or so, you can see how her entire body and face and jaw is like she's in a hot bath....totally unclenched. And immediately after that....there's that melodic crescendo that's SO hilariously powerful. As a vocalist/songwriter myself, I often struggle with that. Composing and recording is more my forte. But singing is hard lol. So much proper technique is not intuitive. Such as....the more relaxed you are, the more open and powerful it is. While the more effort you exert, the more strained and weak you sound. Aurora makes it look absurdly easy.

I loved your reaction to this. Whenever I hear this song, I think that Aurora could become a classical composer if she wanted to. I don´t know who arranged this version, but I´m sure she would be capable of it. She has also made some movie soundtracks, and she is able to bring in extra dimensions to the stories with her music. She has said to have been inspired by both folk- and classical music. I am a middle-aged woman, and I am so impressed with this young woman´s immense and wholesome talent. Musically, lyrically, artistically. She also dances and paints... People call her a storyteller, but she is also a storypainter, if that makes sense. The way she uses her voice and whole body to play on our emotions. I love what you as a musician say about her music and performances. I saw a reaction video by an opera singer (The Charismatic Voice) to It Happened Quiet, and the way she explained the body language, it was like Aurora also experienced the trauma of the song while she was singing, so many little things (just like you talked about) make me even more impressed with this young genius.

So glad you got around to this performance. One of my absolute favourite songs and to my knowledge the only live performance of it. That orchestra elevates her compositions throughout this concert--absolutely stunning how her music lends itself to orchestration and much respect to whomever scored this out. Her look to the camera always sends a shiver down my spine each and every time. Made my day to watch again with you! I would invite you to watch the whole presentation-it really is quite a gem!!

This to me is the song when I saw the future of Aurora. She will write film scores and/or she will write musical(s). Her songs have been used in 39 different episodes of international TV series. She has written the title song for 3-5 TV shows or movies(?). Her songs are used in a suite of TV ads. Her songs carry to me very "visual"/cinematic narratives both in lyrics and composition and it becomes extra apparent when she leaves her electronica studio versions and reinterprets them acoustically or for orchestra. Aurora writing the musical for HC Andersen's "The little match girl" at some point in life? Think about it.

She's not real. I've seen her twice in concert and I can conclude she's not real. She's visiting us from another plane to bless us with her presence. To have such a discography at her age is just unreal. There are NO bad songs on all her 4 albums, they're all magical in their own way. And she's even better live. I've been to plenty of concerts, but the two concerts with her are both #1 on that list. Love your reactions and your connection to her music and artistry. AURORA is truly unique and I really can't think of any artists atm that even remotely touches her. ❤❤❤

Love this song and performance - one of my favorites. It is also little rare as for some reason she does not make it live (at last often). I think lyrics is much easier to interpret if you assume that is it made from the perspective on Mother Nature. And yes she is very into the song. And with Aurora it is often like "limited version" of the song as her performances are often different from one to another - like different arrangements, some details, energy. Thx for cool reaction! Ps. Also as far i know Aurora does not like to rehearse, she prefer to thing about new music and just feel it not like try to do it always the same (and I guess it is a reason why she sometimes even forget lyrics f.e. after longer break - i saw several such situations especially in covid times :P )

For me one of her best songs! Thanks you reacted to it. This version is perfect and the orchestra is super! Funny story about the song Aurora mention in one of her Livestream. The seciond part of the song is different as the first because simply she forget to wrote the same chorus as in the first and found out after the recording was done. Not my words, she said it. Thank you for all your Aurora reactions and wait for the next.

Billie Eilish sent her a video message saying: “Congratulations on the "P3 award"! To be honest, the first time I wanted to do any of this was when I saw the music video for "Runaway". It was because you made it look amazing”, the American boasted.👏👏❤️❤️ I really wish you could react to: “Exhale Inhale” live at VEVO I know you’ll love it😍😍

Maybe my favorite Aurora song. For me the real hook of the song is the 4 syllable title phrase in the middle of the song that doesn't come through as prominently live because of no layering. Check the studio version at your leisure. Even so, the various melodies bring a tear to my eye as well.

When you talked about getting into the music... Just yesterday I had to perform a concerto for the finalist round for a competition(I'm a flutist). You described my exact situation, and how it was hard. First of all, I was playing in a professional music hall, where the city's symphony plays! It sounded completely different from any place I have played in. Second of all, my family and friends were extremely nervous for me, I think even my accompanist was too. So I had to live up to there expectations... I couldn't get in the "zone", that place you said where you are in the music and don't make mistakes, where you have control over the sound, and you can focus on the music. I've been able to do that before, but yesterday I just... couldn't, I had a terrible mindset, I couldn't get rid of all these loud thoughts in my mind telling me not to mess up and scrutinizing everything, I was trying to think "phrasing, phrasing," but nothing was working. I didn't feel like myself on stage. So, when I look back at the recording of myself playing, I really hate it. I didn't feel good about my performance. Everyone else said I killed it though, even a Julliard graduate, even though I didn't win anything. So honestly I don't know.
@StrateleStudios
@StrateleStudios Жыл бұрын
First off, thank you for this honest comment spoken with true humility. I can totally relate. There are times when the distractions overwhelm our ability to get in the zone but as an experience player a great deal of this battle is unnoticed by most, if not all, who are listening. We are always tougher on ourselves and for good reason…it’s how we get better. There is also the forgiveness part about all this that I didn’t talk about. We are not robots so we live from moment to moment when we play and some moment are spectacular and some not-so-much. Acceptance of both scenarios helps us to continue to grow and be better artists. I’ve definitely had days when I couldn’t play the simplest things only to come back another day and “not make a mistake even if I tried”. This is why live performance is so exiting and so sought out by listeners. It’s the magic of not knowing what day it will be for the musicians but with the hopes it will be spectacular. ❤️

It's nuts that this is the only live performance eve of this song...other than just her at a piano during a live stream. It's such an epic grand, but still understated, song. Has the melancholy majesty of a good James Bond song imo. And that rising melody that starts around 2:23...that's Mozart level beauty, seriously. Not to mention that stunning look she gives the camera right after that moment. Like she's looking into my soul. o__o

Hi Jeff, I don't think AURORA is ever excited. She knows she can dive into the songs (your words). Apparently she has this unshakable self-confidence - even if she seems rather shy. There is a short excerpt from a concert when AURORA forgot the lyrics. You won't believe how calmly she resolved the situation. I was impressed. Isn't that the greatest fear of forgetting the lyrics? It is AURORA's knowledge of the uniqueness but also the imperfection of the individual. Those are AURORAS topics. And she lives it. She doesn't just talk about it. AURORA is like that. And that's exactly why I love and adore her. Channel Rob For collects quotes from AURORA AURORA - Quote 026: „…. I forgot the lyriks again ….“ - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqTJfIVvqqerfa8 Maybe you'll include that in the next reaction to be able to explain AURORA even better. Because you explain her wonderfully. Thank you for these insights. Have a great day and Greetings from Germany
