I went to that Show. The sound was Great ! It was the first time I saw him with the Band. Cool Album Coat of Charms is a Melodic Album. I know you like the live perfomances but check it out.

You’ve provided some thoughtful commentary on Buckethead’s music with a perspective I hadn’t heard before. From my perspective, his music is definitely not something I can just have running in the background, it demands my full attention. (My background, 59 yr old, just “discovered” Buckethead a couple months ago and am pretty fascinated by his music, not a guitar player, but I am an engineer, and I think that might be the appeal- my whole life is based on mathematics, I have a similar fascination with J.S. Bach, which I have had for most of my life).

Sparks in the dark, whitewash, padmasana, datura..... Buckethead is on a whole different level.... I'm not a guitar player, never played one, can't play.... but I've always find his music soulful and melodious...

I personally think most his live stuff isn’t as good as his studio recordings like give his song Patrolman a listen then listen to his live version. The live version has more improvising whereas the studio version is much more purposeful and the mixing plays a big part too. I recommend his album The Frankensteins Monsters Blinds. It’s got some fun bass parts, a nice groove that fits the theme of the title pretty well.

Do Binge and Grab, the studio version! Plenty of "theme" in there ;)

That how I feel to. Like its known that buckethead plays part of the song normal so people know what song he's playing then just switches it up at every live show.

Try I LOVE MY PARENTS or SlED RIDE next time! After watching all your reaction video about buckethead,I'm a little bit confused about the concept 'melody' lol.If the problem is about the theme, maybe the songs i recommand would be good.No offense,Im not a professional to music, just a fan of buckethead, and Im curious about your view,in whcih I can learn something.

IMHO you are listening to the wrong people for advice on BucketHead. All the videos you have done are songs recommended by casual listeners. In fairness it’s hard to delve into such a massive catalog. These are what I feel are his best compositions. Plastination Station Lotus Island Eeerie Canal QZ9 Meeting of the Mummy The closed triptych Antler Hill The Patrolman Counter clockwise Inner Space Giant claw returns to the center of the earth Final wars Liquid Mantis Star Chasing Those are enough in my opinion to make you a fan Good Luck Oh and check out this live song kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpLOnoNsiM-paNE
