Yes, this is a 90's song, it was released in 97. Kenny was born in June of 77. Kenny signed his first record deal at 13 and yes he does sing some of his songs now, having been pressured by Steven Stills (Crosby, Stills & Nash) to do so. Ted Nugent also took on singing his own songs later in his career, check out 77's "Cat Scratch Fever" to hear his vocals.

I saw them perform last night in NC. Blew you away. Although KWS is about 43 now. He looks like a baby here. He said that he wrote the album Trouble Is album from 1997, when he was 19 years old. The album turned 25 this past year.

This was in 2000. In his hometown Shreveport Louisiana. Kenny was 21 years old at the time.

Santana is another artist that uses other vocalists. Kenney Wayne and Noah Hunt are doing a 25th anniversary tour right now of their first album together, "The Trouble Is" Like you said, tone matters. Kenney Wayne in the beginning didn't think his voice was right for a lot of the songs. Probably because of who is influences were when he was learning how to play. SRV number one, but he mentioned Muddy Waters in an interview once, talking about his own voice. Noah Hunt is awesome, of course. Corey Sterling sang with KWSB first. Kenny Wayne sings a lot more now. He had great access to music and touring artists growing up because his dad was in radio.
