Thank you for reacting to this PTX original. Please react to Pentatonix mash-up "New Rules x Are You That Somebody?" It is pretty amazing. You'll find lots to discover there.

Deep lyrics as a song of recognition to that person in your life that grounds you & helps you see when your vision is distorted. Creatively showing how our mind can play tricks on us, seeing things broken like Mitch in the glass pieces, upside down like shots of Scott, too focused in or out like Matt & Kevin looking thru glass & Kirstin surrounded by so much that it’s overwhelming. Beautiful and meaningful. Question for Ben: Is there a meaning behind the all white outfit videos... Be My Eyes, Amazing Grace and Love Me When I Don’t?

Yep, I hear it. I went back to the official video to listen too. See everyone, they ARE human. 🤣

Who would have ever guessed?! We are all thinking they are aliens! (Well, jury is still out on Kevin!)

Yeah, I think I heard an audio edit in there. I've been around long enough to know that VERY FEW artists these days get songs done in one take! I know they do the Evolution videos as one continuous take, but I know for a fact that they've never actually gotten one done in just one take. As for the video, the videography is stunning on this one. I can also greatly appreciate the way Kirstie is taking a major leadership role now. She was always the hidden talent in the group, now that talent is not being hidden anymore!

Which is awesome! She deserves to get the spotlight, and she certainly is getting it lately! What an amazing voice she has!💜

Definitely spot on about the whole distorted vision theme, and if you notice also sometimes the images are reversed, upside-down, blurry, or only partial which is all within that theme. Fun detail that is true to the best of my knowledge - their "Daft Punk" video was done on a shoestring budget and filmed in a kitchen or something like that, their record deal fell through from the Sing-Off 3, but luckily we have smart people at RCA records who recognized a GOLD MINE when they saw it!

Nice follow up reaction! Since you find the production interesting, it would be fascinating to interview their mixing engineer Ed Boyer on your channel. I've read an interview/article about him and how he handles acapella differently, which is incredibly interesting.

Can you tell me how to find that interview? I would love to hear/see that!!

When I first listened to this song, all I could hear was Enya's "Orinoco Flow" because the resonant bass, arpeggio, and rhythm is shockingly similar. I love it, but it is so hard to unhear. I hadn't heard the vocal take clicks before, nice catch! Loved the video :)

I figured the Orinoco flow thing had to be some sort of a homage to Enya or something, because it can't be a complete accident.

I HEARD THE CLICK, BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS KEVIN CLICKING HIS TONGUE BEHIND THE CLEAR VASE. NOT REALLY SURE. I REALLY LIKE THE VIDEO AND THE SONG. UNIQUE SOUND. I HAVE TINNITUS (RINGING IN THE EARS) SO I TEND TO MISS ALOT OF SOUNDS.

Speaking of imperfection, there are two GIANT pops in "Shallow" that were like a giant flashing sign to me, but not one reactor commented on it. The pops are at 0:49 and 0:56. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bX_TnJ-BmMt8a9E. You need to ask Boyer about these imperfections. They seem like a post issue more than recording issue.

Since a reactor pointed this out, I now always hear the loud click in Shallow.

Bet that looks good on a resume.. especially when self employed (I lost the point of what I was going to say but I'll keep this in for authenticity!). If you think about, in a completely backwards and not even a thing way.. you work for me : ). Don't worry, I give amazing benefits and super long paid vacations! I'll call my company "Sarah's business LLC" (patent pending for the logo). Pay starts at as many superchats as I can fit into a live stream! #Longestfirstcommentinthehistoryoffirstcomments!

Just FYI, it’s my understanding that this song, written by Kirsten, was recorded by each individual separately due to COVID. That may have impact in the little imperfections you were hearing?
