Love, love, love this song and its message to Army! I'm a 59 year old Army and my husband is 62 and also Army. He's very wise and listened to me when I recommended BTS's music to him. We love their songs, their message, their work ethic, and the way they love their fans. I think American youth in general and musicians specifically could learn a lot from BTS and the way they have lived and developed as artists. As their company Hybe expands into the American market it will be interesting to see if they follow the same methods used with BTS to develop their new boy band here!

This MV was a gift to us ARMY during their yearly Festa - Festa is a 2 week period were we celebrate their debut date of 6/12/13 and get loads of new content. Every Festa is different and it's really a wonderful time to be ARMY because it unites us as fans and the boys themselves enjoy the experiences too. This particular song and MV made me ugly cry to the point I'm happy it's just an animated one since I don't think I could have watched it otherwise. Edit: I'm so ashamed I got their debut date wrong by a day.

BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan....roughly translated as bulletproof boy scouts. I won’t explain the whole meaning but someday soon you should look up J Hopes explanation of their name. I absolutely love watching your journey through their music; I hope that someday soon you will watch some videos about the artists themselves. Most armies will tell you the more you understand the artist, the more you will appreciate the music. As a 43-year-old music major who found their music by chance on KZbin, the only regret I have is that I did not know about them from their debut.

This song is one of the ones that when I heard the first cords, I was in tears and as I heard more and more I bawled more and more. Then I read the lyrics and then watched this video and I was an emotional wreck. This song is so amazing, the tour that was postponed in 2020 this was the one song I wanted to hear them perform live. When they performed it at there only concert last year I was beat hard. This song truly touched my soul! I would recommend if you have gone through all the songs and know all the hardships that BTS has gone through and then I would recommend this song as you don't get the full understanding of this beautiful and amazing song and video. This video put us THROUGH IT when it was released, lol. It is LITERALLY their story with us from debut to MOTS: Persona's Boy with Love. For me, it's difficult to watch because although I wasn't ARMY during their greatest hardships (black oceans, death threats, accusations of plagiarism and chart manipulations, etc.), I WAS part of the Kpop scene and remember the various events that had to have caused them incredible pain. Even as a peripheral, the unfairness and cruelness against them pissed me off!!! And they were so damned young!!! Despite this acrimony against them, the grace and poise they always exhibited rose them above every last controversy!!! It was a hard time for the group, but for ARMY as well. Back in those days, ARMY did not have the power to protect the boys we have now, so the fans were helpless in the midst of all that mess. Because of the helpless rage back then, we now have become their shield and "bulletproof vests." This song, and countless others are BTS's expression of gratitude and love for us, and these of course just make us love them all the more. And YES, they are no longer those 7 defenseless boys because they have their ARMY as backup now. :) People (haters and the like) are quick to say that BTS is overrated, but once you get to know their story, you come to quickly understand how remarkably underrated they actually are, even today! Though MOTS: 7 had already been released when this video dropped during FESTA 2020, they didn't include it in the video because they were not able to share that release with us live and in concert. The attention to detail and the consideration the members have for ARMY is just one of the things that make us go so hard for them. And yes, THIS was our gift from them during the 7th year celebration (FESTA) since their debut in 2013. This FESTA was special and particularly poignant because it would have been the last one we shared with them as a complete group of 7, as Jin was supposed to enlist. I won't go into that in detail as it's a sore topic for ARMY, but thankfully his enlistment has been furloughed until after he turns 30 (international age, not Korean), so sometime in 2023, though he CAN enlist earlier. Actually, there has been talk about all the members enlisting simultaneously some time in 2022. Seems possible considering HYBE's big money moves of late, but I guess we'll see soon enough.

Officially, their full name in English is "Beyond The Scene" to make it easier for foreigners but this usage was only taken in 2017, so not everyone uses it or knows it but everyone just says BTS so... A simple formality. Their real name since forever is 방탄소년단 (Bangtan Sonyeondan) which translates to Bulletproof Boyscouts. Their old logo was a bulletproof vest but it became a door because they grew up and his meaning looks a bit more like their current style (and it's also more aesthetic haha).

a few small details ik about this video is one where one of the members is holding his arm, one of them I believe dislocated his shoulder or broke his arm but he kept performing through the pain. The giant whale they ride on towards the end is based on a song they wrote for the lonliest whale, a whale famous for having no pod due to its pitch. and one of the members crying on stage is when one of the members broke down sobbing during their acceptance speech when they won artist of the year back in 2018 because prior to that they had discussed about disbanding.
