The fact that she needed to restart and did so successfully without affecting the rest of her performance really did make my respect for her as a performer shoot up. I already had a lot of respect for her as a person and as a musician and singer, but her recovery was super impressive. I'm a music major right now, so a big part of my degree is performing in small and large groups, as well as performing solos, and I know exactly how horrible trying to recover from something like that can be even in front of a small group.

She wrote this 4 days before her overdose in 2018. This was her first performance after the overdose, so it was very emotional for her. She took that year in a half away from the public to focus on herself and her music and it was the best thing for her. Her voice is better than ever, and this album is truly beautiful.
