This was another very enjoyable reaction. This was his 2018 guest performance at the New Wave competition held annually since 2002 at the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park.The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts. Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh KZbinr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Sakha people use this technique too; they call it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies. The final run is 21.73 seconds on one breath. This competition was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. He invited Dimash to perform and it was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Stranger, and Ave Maria, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him. There is another performance of this song of one of his more recent concerts. It is as good or better because you can hear certain parts clearer and the camera stays on him most of the time. Keep checking out all of his music, there is SO much to hear and see. Most of his music is live that is uploaded, however, there are a number of awesome mv's as well. At the end of this one when people started clapping, notice the guy in the white shirt that stood up, that was Igor Krutoy, a very famous and well off Russian composer that came out of retirement to write for Dimash after (or possibly just before) this performance. They have a number of songs together, including Ave Maria, Passione, Olympico and Love is Like a Dream. But to have someone that doesn't need to work, come out of retirement just for you... that says something for his talent. Find some of the songs from his time on the I am Singer show, particularly ones like Hello (Lionel Richie cover) and Opera 2. He also does some amazing traditional songs Samaltua and Durdaraz, these are just phenomenally done and worth listening to, even if they aren't in English! Be With Me, Screaming, Stranger and there are a few more that he has done in English that aren't covers, like his cover of Celine Dion's All By Myself, or Queen's The Show Must Go On. There's SO much, enjoy whatever you choose next, as he will blow your mind each and every time... oh yeah, there's also the Diva Dance, yeah, he did that, from Fifth Element, he did that... Enjoy!

This is a cover of Sinful Passion originally by A´Studio. The bass and the piano players were part of that band and the second was one of the songwiters. 5:06 the greeting/farewell to the spirits inherited from Turkic/Tengrenist traditions in certain muslim tribes in the ancient Turan to pay homage to the ancestors and spirits of nature. In Spanish I know it as "hammering vibrato" or "glottal vibrato". In Iran I heard they call it "che-che". The thing with our beautiful Dimash, is, that he is passionate and dedicated to EVERY SINGLE SONG that he sings. He gets 100% INTO the song which makes him an incredible performer. Mariah has NOTHING on Dimash. She's an amateur next to him. When she sings high, it sounds like she's screeching. Never with Dimash. You haven't seen anything as far as Middle Eastern yet. You will if you continue with him. He does pop, too. And he raps. And he sounds like an angel in Ave Maria. I would look up Adagio, though. The one at The Singer contest. Stay with him in the early days first so you can see how he has developed into even a more powerful singer than this one or SOS. Another grand composer, Igor Krutoy, can be seen standing @6:20 in the white shirt. This man has composed more than a few songs specifically for Dimash, including: Ogni Pietra (Olimpico) This piece highlights his operatic prowess. One of his few studio recorded videos is IKANAIDE. This flawless performance is sheer ecstasy for the ears. While the pop tunes don't seem to showcase the variety of his vocal talents, it is what he enjoys. Hmmm, check out Dimash with Igor Krutoy performing Olimpico. Very powerful song about being strong and not giving up. Ever since I saw the very first video of Dimash (and got blown away!!), I've developed an addiction of watching other people's reactions to him. Dimash has an 7.7 octave range (G0-D8) I believe, and he can move seamlessly throughout all of these ranges & can sing in any genre (so yes, higher than Mariah 😂) He also says he can sing higher but it’s about the music & not hitting the highest notes. The guy in the white shirt at the end of the performance giving Dimash standing ovations is a well known composer in Russia. After Igor Krutoy heard this performance he came out of retirement to work with Dimash! 😍 And in my opinion they do magic together! Ogni Pietra (Olimpico), Love is like a Dream, Stranger, Ave Maria and more are from this collaboration!

These songs were the early years when he had a lot to prove, check out Stranger & Ave Maria and if you feel up to it, Dimash released a music video this year, he directed it, acted in it and all the background music is Dimash. Dimash is independent and the music video is the most expensive music video ever made, it will leave you in awe.

The previous list is good but I would also recommend Ave Maria (a vocalised version), Stranger, he also did Queen's The Show Must Go On, Daybreak (based on a true story of a cable car crash in China. This was written by Han Hong who adopted a 2 1/2 year old who was the only survivor. She wrote the song based on his point of view).

Maybe if you heard him sing something you already know you might appreciate his range, technique, and style look for "Show Must Go On" or "Hello". for a more heavy metal feel his song "Across Endless Dimensions" or his EPIC original piece "The Story of One Sky" should satisfy even though neither are metal songs, they just have parts of them where he uses some metal singing styles in them.
