I think I can say with confidence that you should watch all 3 How to Train Your Dragon Films. In my personal opinion, they are the best Dreamworks trilogy. The journey of Hiccup's character is one that I relate to deeply. I request "Forbidden Friendship" from the first film. Its control of emotions is masterful.
@momoluvr123
@momoluvr123 2 жыл бұрын
Context with this track (without giving spoilers): the calm parts resonate with the feeling Hiccup and his mom have while in the air flying with the dragons. They don’t feel the cold or bogged down by problems, they feel free and open and it just translates so well in the soundtrack 😩

That ending to that song was so fun. The total shift in the mood of the song was really surprising. Also, I do recommend watching How to Train Your Dragon 2. It’s a pretty good movie. Also, may I recommend listening and reacting to Ballad of the Goddess from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Honestly, you really can’t go wrong with any Zelda song, but this one is my favorite video game song because I love how the song feels so grand but also transitions into very beautiful melodic and elegant sections that flow very well together. Helpful link to the Ballad of the Goddess from LoZ: Skyward Sword - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGW1lqylg9WsqK8

The inner peace I felt when your head bobbing finally fell into that waltz time groove-- Nice reaction, and for your comment on how John Powell ended the track, I'll have to add that it makes more sense paired with the scene, just like all the moments of suspension and release in the song. And your thoughts on it being a happy moment (I believe you mentioned the resolution of the first movie and how fulfilled Hiccup feels as a character) were spot on. Without spoilers, I feel comfortable telling you that this is from a more upbeat scene in the movie, a "soft and fluffy" moment if you will. This soundtrack is near and dear to my heart, thanks for giving it a listen!

Interesting reaction from someone who doesn't know the context! If you remember my comment about the diverse instruments on your Test Drive video, I know a lot about this track too. I even got to work on the official scorebook for this movie a couple months back. Without giving spoilers, this cue was put in here last minute and the main theme in it was never even intended to play joyfully. The choir at 1:18 sings in Gaelic, the bells you hear at the start are just common desk bells, and the main percussion is the Irish bodhrán. Coincidentally, I'm working on a full analysis of this track right now with a ton of other interesting information; I already have a full outline. And if you see this movie and check out the full soundtrack, the deluxe album releases on streaming tomorrow, May 13th! This is actually great timing on your part!

Could you please review the tracks “Two New Alphas” from the second movie and “As Long As He’s Safe” from the third one? As a longtime fan of the franchise, they two are by far my favourite pieces Powell has composed; both make outstanding use of percussion especially, but overall there’s something so brilliant about how both are carried out, especially with how they flow with each respective scene.
