The drummer is the forever smiling, Tamu Murata, lovely girl. Here is her session on YT covering Japan's Mega Band - X-JAPAN song - 紅 Kurenai : kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHiyl2tvncuVepo Likewise you can listen to the actual X-Japan Performance - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZvXiXimgs54htk Excerpts from Wikipedia on Yoshiki, Band Leader, Drummer - Tamu's Idol - on his purchase of an American Studio: "Discussing the purchase in 2010, Yoshiki explained that in Los Angeles people told him that One on One had the "best drum-sounding room" and so he attempted to book recording time there. However, Metallica had it booked for "almost a year straight" for their self-titled album with numerous bands scheduled after that, and he was told sarcastically that the only way to get in was to buy it, so he did."

First of all, it's great to see you rocking these reactions. I've ben taking a small break but will be recording within the next couple days. Right out of the jump these ladies give us a nice taste of their capabilities. Yesssss love when a vocalist has a wide range. And the drummer is throwing us those epic sounding double kick drums. I am genuinely enjoying this song so far. Your reaction is exactly what mine has been... totally like wtf!! That f'ng solo(s) at around the 4:00 mark were BEAST mode. And then they end it off really slowwww and chunky!! I see a ton of potential with these beautiful ladies. Rock on my brother 🙌👏💪

Although they are a pretty new band, having released their first album of original material during the pandemic, they did manage to play two US dates this year, with a show during the early summer at Whiskey a Go Go, and then playing the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento in early October. They were the only shows they've played so far outside of Japan, if I'm not mistaken. They have some more US dates scheduled in 2023 in California and New York, with the possibility of more dates being added in future, but I expect them to keep their touring light since vocalist Mayu just had a baby a couple weeks ago. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll add something in the Midwest (I was overjoyed when Band-Maid added a Chicago date to their recent US tour, since I'm in St. Louis, so hopefully Nemophila will follow suit)!

Welcome to Japan bro. If you never hear another Western band, you can live off Japan just fine. I know, I've been doing it for the past 7 years. As an 80s metalhead, I can honestly say I have NO IDEA what is going on in my backyard but the far East is crushing it daily. Let's see you melt your face with some Dazzle Vision. They aren't around anymore but this was my intro in to J-rock and metal. Listen to "Second" or "Evolution."

Nemophila is a new band from Japan that is a side project for these five musicians. An Oiran ( oh-ee-rahn) is a type of geisha. The drummer, Mura Tatamu has her own youtube account that features Nemophila and a ton of her other projects; very much worth checking out. A great band to listen to after Nemophila is Mary's Blood: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIGbdJ55grR1ftE -The dark-haired guitarist in the Oiran video, Saki, has been playing with Mary's Blood for over ten years and they've released many albums. She's sort of an unholy mixture of Malmsteen and Hendrix with that Japanese weirdness thrown in. Lastly, Nemophila has one three song ep available for purchase but I don't know if it's available in the US. Ototoy is one place you can pick it up digitally for about seven bucks after the exchange rate.

Although they started out as a side project, originally to be a solo band for Mayu after leaving Lipstick, Nemophila is now the primary project for all of them, since Mary's Blood and the Li-sa-X band broke up. Tamu, Saki, and Hazuki still have their own side projects, but Nemophila is their main full-time focus. And they now have much more than just a three-song EP available (this is two years after your comment, of course). They have two full-length albums "Revive" and "Seize the Fate," along with the 8-song EP "Oiran" (which was mostly re-released as part of the Revive CD). Physical copies can be a little tricky to get in the US, as you have to go through Japanese vendors or go-betweens like Buyee, but both albums and the Oiran EP are available on most digital streaming platforms. I have all of them through Amazon Prime Music.

As mentioned, blond guitarist Hazuki is also now in LisaX Band, on LisaX’s third major release, you know, now that she’s 15 and all... LisaX’s first release with vocals, also has guest rhythm section Billy Sheehan & Shane Gaalaas (jaw drops) because this rhythm she wrote that Hazuki holds down is so freakin hard. But despite the prog , singer Rina makes it sound like smooth soulful blues! Side A “One More Chance is Enough” kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqvWoqCkesZrb8U You’ve seen Saki (fall😝🎸💃), check out Mayu’s Lipstick, & Hazuki’s other work was always with Narumi “of the long red hair” (Disqualia, LisaX 2017, Rami (formerly of Aldious), & the upcoming Narumi band.). Tamu Murata (Murata Tamu in Japanese) is a harder one to recommend clips, cuz each band is different. She did partner with LadyBeard of Ladybaby fame, think there are live vids, he screamed as a hype/front man a la Flavor Flav while all-stars like Yashiro (Mary’s Blood other guitarist) backed up her singing and drumming... we’ll get you there 😉

Oh wow, they are connected to so many projects. Thanks for providing a wealth of info here. I will find my way towards the groups as I keep finding this tremendous music. I cant wait to lend my ears to all this music and so far I am enjoying this very much.

artemorbid So cool that you started with Destrose. Saki & Narumi both came thru that legendary band, Narumi of the long red hair was probably in the vid you started with, with the Lovebites rhythm section. And besides the projects I just mentioned, she has a solo instrumental prog metalish guitar album, and filled in a few months for Aldious, including in Cali at NAMM this winter... They get around!, everybody plays with everybody...

The song's title pronounced O as in "orgasm". I as in "inn" and RAN exactly sounds like in "running". Oiran is japanese culture. It was a high class prostitution in early age of japan. The appearance looks like geisha but more glamorous. Nowadays, oiran is a culture that still maintained. But not as a prostitution anymore. The story of oiran is really jawdropping. The Oiran and the buyer not at the same social level. Believe it or not, the oiran's social level was higher than their buyer. And the market target is only for the conglomerate. The buyer need to spend a lot of times and money with oiran's exclusive maids to show that they were rich enough to buy oiran's service, before they can get laid with oiran. If you see the full translation of the song, Nemophila really described it very precise... the first sentence: "no one can stop me" already described oiran's lifestyle in their era. Oiran can to anything to their buyer. Not the contrary as we know in nowadays if you buy a prostitute service. For the band itself, Nemophila is a species of flower. As you can see, their band logo is the shape of nemophila flower. Sure the band has loads of talents. Saki as a band leader is also Mary's Blood guitarist. Hazuki is ex Disqualia's guitarist. Tamu is a well known drummer in covering X Japan and others legendary japanese bands. Haraguchi is ex hölderlins' bassist. And Mayu itself, ex Lipstick's vocalist has various vocal colors and characteristics. Just listen how she screams, growls, and so on...

Ouch, I arrived late to this one. Like many before me said, here are pure hardcore metal veteran ladies. But, I don't know if another commenter have said before, the song is called OIRAN, and that word came from ancient Japan, where were certain kind of courtesan women called OIRAN, very similar to geishas, but with the different than their services were strictly sexual, but very expensive for being them very cult women.
