The song is truly heartbreaking in retrospect because we all know how much struggle this kid still has in front of him. 😢

You're the first person I've seen donthis song! The first time I saw this video, I felt so bad for him, he looks like a little boy, and the mom in me just wants to give him a hug. On his community page he reposted a video from around this same time (I'd venture to say he looks even sicker in that), and its heartbreaking because he talks about feeling that he was going to die soon. Very distressed. As sad as it is, I'd definitely recommend that anyone struggling with autoimmune issues watch it because it's amazing to really SEE how far he's come, and shows people how far they can go too.

I think that is the best thing; to see someone struggle as you are and get through it. I'm also going to listen to the entirety of the Freckled Angels album as reactions.

I keep realizing that this would be the era of him "shouting out into an empty room, a blank canvas, that he would defeat the forces of evil." Not sure whether it would be before the psychosis or after, but this was then-ish, if I've pieced the history together properly?

Another great reaction, JP! His writing is amazing and I can listen to Ren play guitar anytime. I'm still mind blown that he's self-taught. Oh I got all 3 of his CDs in the mail a couple weeks ago 😊

Thank goodness Ren used his music as a coping mechanism! The healing that music brought him back then has given us the Ren we know today, still creating beautiful music and sharing it all with us! Thanks for the reaction, my first time hearing this one ❤

Thank you, Ren, for what you did for Robert Hale in his last days. Although I didn't know him personally, I am a person who has faced days in which I lived to see another simply because the love and concern I have for my animals. I don't know if you ever saw his tribute video featuring this song (his comments were turned off), but allowing him to use your song without fear of copyright infringement I'm quite sure meant the literal world to him in his last days here on earth. He seemed to be exactly where he wanted to be...with his furrbabies, and I believe that your song allowed him to express that emotion in ways his body no longer could. Again, I didn't know Rob personally, but his story and his love for his animals is just so beautifully endearing, if not heartbreakingly so. I find myself often feeling despondent at times in the face of my future in this world (a feeling I know that you are all too familiar yourself), but whenever I need to find strength and purpose in this world, I find myself revisiting Rob's video, and his grace and compassion in his last moments gives me, well..just that much needed bit of patience. You, Ren, are truly a propagator of all things brilliant and lovely amidst the darkest of depths, and for that willful desire to spread your light, I will be forever grateful. In case you missed it, here's the link to Rob's tribute video. Well done, mate.. I can think of no better song choice than this. ❤ Robert's Patience @robertchale "2mo ago If you want to know what kind of guy Ren is, im dying of leukaemia and reached out to him because i wanted this song played at my funeral but im not tech savvy enough to edit it- he went and edited out the beginning where hes talking and emailed me the audio of the song. This guy isnt just talented and passionate, hes a real 1 in a billion gem of an artist who still takes time to connect with and help his ever growing fan base. This song has become the theme tune to my treatment despite none of it working. Ive tried to introduce everyone i know to his music and so far not a single person has been critical. All ages and walks of life love it. Thank you Ren." kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGnGfKmLa8mopZIfeature=shared

Amazing story here! I see Robert made his local news so he at least tried to help others before he passed. That song. Means so much more with the different context and if you relate it to Robert's story.

Thanks for this one, appreciated it! Please do one of his older tracks, also from way back, like 10 yrs ago: TRICK THE FOX- A Poem By Ren. It is quite uplifting. A bit of wisdom from baby Ren's old soul. He has it also on his Ren MakesMusic channel (Freckled Angels album), under the title Meaning, but I prefer the older track. Video is a bit glitchy, but the sound is good. Edit: if you go for the older one, please also do read the text from the Description afterwards, it adds to the whole impression

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome isn't a symptom but an illness in itself which can be very similar to late stages of Lyme disease, but there is no test for it so when they couldn't find anything else wrong with him they just put him in there
