Only 3 minutes in, watching you reacting to this is heavy stuff. Cause you seem to be a highly sensitive and very emotional person who obviously has gone through a lot and is still on the long way to healing. @@BeccaDoss You are a brave lady, I am a 59 year old northern Englishman and I amazed by Ren who taps into universal themes, also we are supposed to be "stiff upper lip" over here -I believe in hell now after being through a similar thing to you and him...your honesty is remarkable. I am also a student of Shakespeare (we believe he had clinical depression) and he is so near to the early sonnets, also I see similarities with Beethoven who almost committed suicide at 32 -his art saved him and like Ren is 100% raw and honest in every way.

I’ve gotten a couple comments over the past several months where someone immediately calls my entire reaction fake simply because I was moved to tears by the beauty of music. Heck, the opening chords here even BEFORE those 2 lines had me choking up. Which just made those 2 lines, and the rest of the song, even more powerful. Ren has impacted this world in a way I’ve personally never witnessed before (at least not in my lifetime), and I honestly find it impossible NOT to connect with anything he does. He’s masterful at his craft. Really appreciate you.💕🫂

It's very clear if someone has lived chronic illness when they hear that line about being scared of being ok. I suffer from POTS and can't help but tear up each time. I love that you smiled during that last chorus. For me this song isn't about the pain and fear, but about the will they find to survive it. To balance on their toes cause they can't help but want to breathe. The small things we find to make it another day and the strength to, even if just for a while, smile.
@BeccaDoss Жыл бұрын
POTS is on my laundry list of illnesses, as well, so I understand firsthand how difficult it can be to manage and navigate, and you definitely know what it’s like to be afraid of being okay. And I’m right there with you, the song seems to be about the pain on the surface, but by the end, I don’t see how anyone can feel anything but HOPE, and reclamation of life, even if from a place of desperation.💕

I may be a little late to your party, but I have been watching almost every Ren reaction video I can find (and there are a lot of them) so it took me awhile to find you. This was one of the most raw and honest reactions I have seen. I have not had chronic physical pain, but I have bipolar 2 which was misdiagnosed for years as unipolar depression. I also went through the experience of having horrible psychiatrists that overmedicated me with things that made the condition worse not better. It literally took me years to find the right combination of therapist and psychiatrist. So a lot of that part of Ren's messaging really resonates with me. Thank you for posting such a vulnerable raw reaction. I've seen Ren comment on a lot of the reaction videos, but this is the first time I've seen chinchilla do that. Both of them are amazing artists, and both seem quite real humble and down-to-earth, as do you.

I get hit by this song too, in the best and most meaningful way. I was looking into a new treatment recently and felt that fear of being ok start to come up before I’d even gotten far into it. Unfortunately it turns out it’s way more expensive than I can manage, so I don’t have to face that fear right now, but I’m having a depressed few days because I let myself get my hopes up for a little while. I imagine you can relate to that. Ren’s music has been helping to coax me through it and your beautiful, honest, raw reaction helped too. I know I’m not alone in this fight at least. Thank you for sharing yourself so openly and freely! It’s a gorgeous song; one thing I like is that while Ren can OBVIOUSLY sing incredibly beautifully, I feel like he’s intentionally stepped back so that Chinchilla takes the spotlight. It feels very gracious of him. Their intimacy and connection is so moving! By the way, I hope it’s ok if I ask, but is your head wrap some kind of ice pack? I don’t think I’ve seen one quite like that but you’ve had it on in most/all (I’d have to double check) of the videos I’ve seen from you, so I thought maybe it was something that helped you feel a little better. Either way, I hope you’re having a good day with extra spoons!

I read this comment when you posted it, but was having a rough time myself, so couldn’t give you the reply I wanted to. I’ll try now. I’m so sorry you get hit by the song so hard due to your own experiences. It’s such a hard place to be in. And YES. I am absolutely familiar with the process of looking into a new treatment, having a small spark of hope or possibility, then either not being able to afford it, or not be able to receive it even if you could afford it (but usually we can’t because it’s all EXPENSIVE stuff in this world), only to have it taken away. It’s a roller coaster I wouldn’t wish on anyone, I’m so sorry you’re familiar with the ride. Ren’s music has absolutely been a source of catharsis and healing, for me as well as countless others (like yourself), and that’s such an amazing thing to witness. I do like what you point out about when they’re singing together on the bridge and that last chorus, I think he definitely intentionally lets her shine more on those parts because it adds yet another layer of depth to the whole feel and performance of it all, and she is SUCH special and massively talented artist in her own right! Awesome how it worked out here. As far as the head thing goes: yep! It’s a cold pack! I’ve actually had to wear a cold pack on my head basically 24/7 for 8 years or so, so I’ve gone through a fair number (included typical blue gel ones that I jerry-rigged around my head with a sports headband) it brands, styles, and this brand has been mr favorite, and the brand name is “Headache Hat.” I’ll link their main shop page here, but they’re also on Amazon. The double-row one I’m wearing here is what’s called the “headache halo,” whereas their roginsk “headache hat” of which I’ve had 2, have 3 rows of cubes that are movable and removable as needed. I also have one of the single row wraps, thought I don’t use that one on my head much, and I have their Headache Hat GO, which is also 2 rows, but the two rows of cubes are fixed and all on one sheet, so not adjustable. theheadachehat.com/collections/frontpage

That said, thank you for your empathetic and kind response, you are always so sincere and I love that about you! I’m sorry that you can relate to my problems personally as well though. I was talking to a friend of mine who also has ME and he mentioned someone who was cured, but said that the way they cured themselves was throwing $150,000 at it, just absolutely every treatment available and seeing what stuck. How is that supposed to be doable for a normal person, let alone someone so sick they can’t work? It’s very frustrating. But I’m researching ways to get traction on a GoFundMe campaign and I’m trying to stay hopeful that I’ll be able to try the treatment eventually at least, even if it takes ten years (although maybe it’ll come down in price in that time!). With shows like American Idol and The Voice, "the industry" digs for those perfect singers. I will take a singer that breathes life and heart into the music over that any day of the week. Don't get me wrong, both Ren and Chinchilla have amazing voices and technique, but it is the sincerity and emotion they sing with that gives it its power. You can tell - they have been there; they have dealt with issues and had to dig their way out of the ditch. Heart and soul are way more important than perfect pitch with every note. Emotion is conveyed in the way the line is put forth and if the pitch is perfect every time, it loses that. You need the fluctuations and tension and that shaky note that lets us know that you are just holding on. And when someone sings from the heart, as Chinchilla and Ren did with this piece, you just know.

i only recently got into the rabbit hole of Ren and the more reactions to Fighters like yourself the more it Resonates with me. Ren has Cleared all Reactors to Appeal all Copystrikes and believe in your words and feelings, he watches alot of reactors so i hope you the much love you deserve from him (he's very humble) i Don't comepletly think you will read the whole thing, But i would appreiate it if you do. Thank you

This is the most heartfelt reaction I have ever watched. You are a warrior. I have autoimmune disease l, I have been a fighter for 27 years. There is no cure for what I have. But you are showing the world that we are made to be bent and broken ( Ren lyrics lol) Keep on being you and the world is a better place. Much love and respect from m the UK xx

Even though Crutch is one of his best videos. It's another heart breaking song . Don't do it for awhile. The same goes for Tale of Jenny and Screech. It's a brilliant video but oh so emotional , tragic and heartbreaking. I know people really like them as do I but honestly they are very emotional and you really should stick with his fun upbeat songs for awhile. The worst one and I don't recommend it at all is Money Game Part 1 It's my least favorite, but Money Game Part 2 is fun and brilliant. A super fun one is called "What You Want" It goes back to Old School music and has a lot of word play, you'll be smiling ear to ear listening and watching it.

This one was as heartbreakingly hard and beautiful to watch as I feared. I don't know it feels to fight your fight, or Rens. But I do know how it feels to battle and struggle against a condition that most don't understand and downplay the consequences. It is so encouraging to see and hear other people be as honest, vulnerable and raw as you are. The more we see we are not alone we get the drive to never give up the fight. The fact that I cannot win is not a reason to accept defeat. It is OK to falter or lose ground but do long as you try you are strong. Keep being yourself as a source of encouragement and inspiration. The dance goes on. 🐺❤️

You are the first person I've seen out of 50+ reactions that got the double meanings of this song. First to understand what he means by "Chalk Outlines" Very refreshing to hear your perspective. If not for the camera I would have started my own reaction channel just to get the actual meaning out there. To bury your self in a smile as to make the world think you are ok when you are not is something I've done throughout life. Also to push it back down with a new habit.. to quit smoking ciggs I smoked weed instead, when trying to quit weed I drank alcohol instead..

Greg, that is a reality I know too well, and one far too many people know too well. My husband and I were actually talking about this very concept earlier this week. It's a hard place to be, but I try to remind myself that "nothing lasts forever...not even this." Which could seem depressing, that nothing good lasts forever, but it also means nothing bad lasts forever, and everything WILL eventually pass, even if it takes a lot longer than we'd like.

I’m so thankful to hear you were able to connect with not only this song, but my breakdown, too. This was one of the first few videos I posted once I decided to go all-in on reaction content for my channel, so I’ve refined my setup and recording process (making sure I rewind to not mess with the flow of things, etc.), and it blows my mind any time I get a comment on one of these earliest reactions because I think it shows just how powerful Ren’s music and message is. Whether I’m sitting on my bed (like I was here), or actually set up in my ‘recording corner,’ or anything else, his music still makes it so people can connect and resonate on a deep, human level, and that is just so freaking cool to me.😊 I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with the beast that is addiction of any kind. I hope you’ve been able to break free, or at least find ways to access that freedom sometimes. I know it’s a lifelong practice to not run back to it, and I’m sending you so much love and compassion as you’re walking that road.💕 Thank you for taking time to leave this comment, I’ve been kinda slow at getting to them lately, due to my own health stuff, but I saw this notification when I woke up and just felt compelled to respond. Hang in there, friend. Even if our battles are different in specifics, we’re all fighting for basically the same thing-freedom from bondage to whatever has us-and there’s at least a sense of camaraderie in that.🫂

I love your reaction. I have chronic pain and been dealing with mental health 4 as long as I can remember. I discovered Hi Ren while waiting for a phone call from my therapist. Quite a coincidence. Or something? Is was pretty intense. I was real sick so I had an excuse to lay in bed all day listening to Hi Ren and watching reaction vids. What a gift he is to the world. I'm a little obsessed. I'm a 66 year old woman. And I'll bet he has fans of all ages. I hope he gets a full recovery, and I hope you do, too. But I know from personal experience that it's not a simple thing with a clear path. I actually kinda hate it when people say "I hope you get better soon." LOL I know they mean well, but sometimes what we crave is to be understood more than to be well-wished. That's why Ren's music has hit me so hard and deep. I'm so grateful to him.
@BeccaDoss Жыл бұрын
I’m not typically a huge believer in coincidence, so I tend to think, when things like yo serendipitously, it’s because there’s a bigger picture at play, and we come across the things we need to see/hear/encounter when we need them. It sounds to me like that’s what happened when you found Hi Ren while waiting for your therapist to call. That gave me chills to read. From all the feedback I’ve seen, he really does have fans of all ages, and all walks of life, and even with our differences, he’s found a way to unify us all around our shared, common humanity, and that’s the mark of a REALLY special artist. And I’m with you, the whole “get well soon” can sting to hear, even if it’s said with the best of intentions, especially if we know we’re dealing with chronic conditions that don’t just go away or get better. I’m glad Ren’s music has been able to help you feel seen and understood, and I really appreciate you taking time to share this here.💕

That phrase "the feeling goes when you draw a chalk outline" illustrates the self-talk in one's own heart but I have to say... The feeling doesn't go anywhere, in my personal experience, without addressing/facing forthrightly/accepting humbly oneself + reality. Your commentary is all excellent ♥️

You’re so right. And it takes a lot of time, courage, and trial and error to address those things, and I know many of us (including me) tend to want to give up when it’s taking what we perceive as “too long.” But there is no “right” timeline, there’s only the time it takes, and it just takes the time it takes.💕

As a fellow Lyme Warrior, this was the most honest and relatable reaction to the song that I've seen. I've got neurological Lyme which has affected my vision, balance, nausea, and so much more. I'm on year 10 of my journey and boy I relate to every word you said, and every emotion you felt. I had about a year and a half straight where I would have 4-6 hours of panic attacks every day, and was vomiting 3x a day with how bad the nausea was. I'm further along my recovery now but still unable to work, drive, or even wear glasses. Please know that you sharing how you felt has helped validate my feelings. Thank you so much, we will get through this. 💚

Oh friend, I am so sorry to hear you know this battle so well firsthand. It’s a hell we wouldn’t wish on anyone. I’m so glad to hear you’re further along in your healing than you once were, and I’m there with you when it comes to Lyme, further along than I was years ago, but I know we’ve still got healing to do, and it’s my hope and prayer you’re able to find that continued healing and can get back to even more of your life. Thank you so much for taking time to reach out and share a bit of your story. I’m grateful to know you were able to resonate/connect with this one, though I also hate knowing that, because I wish you didn’t have to understand it firsthand. But since you did, I’m so glad this World Wide Web brought us together. All of your feelings have always been, are, and always will be valid. I’m so sorry you know this pain and suffering all too well, and I’m really glad I was able to shine a light on that line so it could take on that deeper meaning for you.
