As a former high school tenor sax player in our school band……..these guys absolutely SLAY. The skill here to all play in synch, play absolutely perfectly in time, then drop right back into that groove? Humans truly can achieve incredible things when we work together 😂

"slip" is a Deadmau5 track, and it's incredible. I'm a big fan of his and I've seen him do it live, but this version is better. Absolutely crazy the sounds these guys are able to make with marching band instruments.

As far as I can tell the arrangements are a group effort by all of them, but the trumpet player with the curly hair is the founding member and certainly did a lot of their early arrangements.

Meute (German pronunciation: [ˈmɔɪ̯tə], stylized as MEUTE, German for "pack", "rout" or "crowd") is an eleven-piece self-described techno marching band from Germany. And, yes, they do march although their formation is loose. They also do large live concerts.

I recognize that you have problems with pronouncing the bands name. It is spoken like MOYTE like in OYSTER. E and U in German is always spoken OY. The meaning is coming from hunting. In German we say MEUTE to a group of dogs when hunting. Enjoy music from these guys, they are very talented, and this way to make marching music in techno-style is - as i know - unique.

Thank you for the review, Steve. Now the next logic thing to do with this band is to continue with ‘Slow Loris’ to really get into that dance track vibe, and then continue with ‘You and Me’ to sink your teeth into something quite different from them. Bon appétit. Keep up the good work.
@orbitalsummer Жыл бұрын
slow loris is so underrated by Meute. seems like it's getting not the attention the song deserves.

I love the tricky polyrhythms, just marveling at how these guys make it happen with such consistency and precision, all while being such a fountain of contagious joy :') Their every waking hour must be practice and rehearsal. I don't believe they need a click track; their bass drummer Marco is a human metronome :) And yeah, they're tight. Watching Meute often makes me think of when Adam and Justin of Tool were saying they feel & play like two parts of the same instrument.

They are using a clicktrack;)

Musician who has no idea about the genre, or the original Deadmou5 track reacts to a band he doesn't know. 💯 Also, obviously they have an in-ear click :) with those kinds of rhythms, it's a necessity. And not sure you notice, they played live, but what you hear is not what they played, it's a studio recording.
@beeble20039 ай бұрын
I don't think it's a studio recording -- it's just too well-synched with the video. But it is very heavily post-processed.
