Songs actually produced/mixed by Chris Lalic From Windwaker I believe. Nice catch

Love the Owl City reference at @10:53 since he's my favorite artist, and I wasn't expecting to hear that in a video like this. Shows how much musical variety you have!

Have you watched their in-studio play-through of the whole album from a few years back? It's impressive how that performance sounds exactly like on the record, and that Jacoby's voice has held up for 20+ years...

the vocals just don't do it for me at all. Viper Hill was a banger but everything else released just isn't it.

Love the vocals but not the mixing u fortunately. Live vocals are supreme. Loving this song tbh

Hi there, and thank you soooo soooo much for always giving the song and the video the room that it deserves! The thing that you give feedback while playing the tune is awesome, and almost unique in reaction videos. The analysis is always (in my humble opinion) well ,if quickly, applied, but mostly quite accurate. Forgive my language, but I am a suede, like Dirty Loops, so I might not always get my meaning through as first intended. Keep up your good work, and let's hope there will be more DL songs! Take care.

I love everything Thornhill do with their music, even before Dark Pool. The thing I appreciate the most on this channel is that you're all for the music. 90% of ,not just reactors... musicians and listeners, they tend to not give a second chance to bands they didn't enjoy in the past, but you leave your bias behind and take the song for what it is and even changed your perspective on the band. 10/10 respect from me! Thank you for the content you're putting out!

Dirty Loops and Cory Wong (and the Wong Notes!) are what happens when every member of the band is the most important member.

I think I was subconsciously waiting for this song to get into Thornhill. I'm all for the "vibey" now too! Our live music scene over here is not exactly healthy and robust these days, but it's so good seeing Aussie bands doing big things overseas 🥰 Thank you!

I think what it may be, what you were previously talking about in another video of yours. You’ve said that you previously didn’t like the vocal style of Knocked Loose, but now love it. In some ways the Dark Pool’s vocals were sometimes quite similar. I also agree with a lot of people that the production on Heroine wasn’t a massive hit, but until recently, going back into that album, I actually prefer it over The Dark Pool.

(1:48) Jacob singing that E natural instead of an F natural (subtle but noticeable) is what gives it that "unusual" sound in this melody, that whole bluesy vibe honestly is what amplifies that chours for me the most along with the vocal layers on top of that as well

Definitely give their previous single Obsession a go (if you haven't already) since you're digging this new sound. They're including it on the album

What I love about this band the heavy dropped riffs that bring a ton of groove with the atmosphere layering in the background with Jacob's soaring vocals and melody choices in the chorus. Also noticed with this one the cool vocal effects in the verses really add to it kind of similar to Nerv in the chorus he has a seperate vocal melody going on in the background while singing something completely different overtop super cool. Can't wait for their new album loved all 3 singles they dropped so far for it! \m/

The Dark Pool is a great album. Clearly one of the best debut in Metalcore and I right away clicked with it when I started listening to Thornhill early last year. But there's enough Prog Metalcore. It's overdone. Pornhill is much more interesting. Heroine is a masterpiece of an album and Bodies is shaping to be one as well.
@Fr0mN07h1n9Күн бұрын
Finally someone I agree with on this topic. Dark Pool IS a great album, but Heroine felt like a totally new sound that so few bands were doing when it released.
@55timboslice22 сағат бұрын
I was obsessed with listening to their entire discography on repeat until Heroine came along, now I don't even think about them anymore. You like how they changed their sound, I think it's completely unrecognizable and a downgrade in quality! If it was so fucking good like you all think, I probably would be listening to heroine by now, but I'm not...Deftones and the simplified drums and burying Jacobs vocals, the vocals are nowhere near as impactful and compelling

I was so instantly in with Bloodywood when I first heard them. Loved your reaction on this one. They just dropped another new track from the forthcoming album. The track is called Tadka. The song and the video are really great on many levels. I agree with your sentiment, since it was the same one I had, regarding how it took so long for someone to do what they are doing considering it just makes sense once you hear it. Amazing stuff.

They have a couple of Sirius XM live performances..including this song and it is amazing. The other live is Neon Grave, also spectacular. You should check those out as well as their cover of My Immortal by Evanescence..chills every time. Burial Plot and Without You are also great songs to check out! I honestly don't think they have a bad song!

Really reminds me of Lost Cause from their Deja Vu album, which was my favorite by far. That guitar "solo" at the end is super sick too. This album is shaping up to by my favorite of 2025 :)
