Such a powerful song, the acoustic version is moving in a different way, someone has linked it below and it is definitely worth a watch. There's even some video background of where Dany's head was when she wrote it, if you search "The Warning - Video Diary (Berklee)", the entry from the last week at Berklee has a bit of Dany talking about how homesick she was and you can see the emotion she put into writing this song. It's also the only song Dany sings without any backup vocals/harmonies, just Dany's voice. And the end of this performance of the song is just perfect, with the lights going out on everyone but leaving her in the spotlight 'alone' for a couple of seconds, bravo to whoever thought of that touch.

Context: they studied music theory in Boston, in that school and Dany had to present a composition for her exam ... but at that moment she was alone and depressed and used that to write this song

SUBSCRIBED for more of The Warning! Crazy to think that Dany was only 15 years old when she wrote these deep, touching lyrics. She was homesick while taking classes with her sisters at Berklee. They had an assignment to each write a song and she put this one on paper. There's an acoustic fan-cam version of this which is pretty good quality, and she stops and cries for a bit before collecting herself and finishing the song. This dates back to the summer of 2015, when they were at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. for the five week summer session they all attended. Dany was terribly homesick, had an assignment to write a song, and came up with this. Instant classic The Warning. This is an amazing version. The performance they did at their 2017 TEDx Talk at The University of Nevada included this, with a slightly different arrangement. Dany doesn't write many, but when she does, wow! It is on their first album, *21st Century Blood.* If this song had been around in the 1970s, it could have been a top ten hit.

When David Bendeth produced their album, after listening to them he told them that they were great by playing individually ... but they had to learn to play as one ... and he taught them how to do it ... well, you have just discovered much of how it happens that they are so tied up and achieve that full sound ... the voice (and guitar) follows the drums and the drums follows the bass and Ale, the bassist, has been called "the human metronome" she is the one who synchronizes them (said by themselves) and in this way they manage to assemble a musical piece

You could also check out a song called Crimson Queen with Dany singing from their Queen of the Murder Scene album. Probably best viewed from their Lunario concert. It’s a beautiful song about a girl obsessing over a guy that doesn’t know she exists and ties into a larger concept of the entire album. Pau sings the majority of TW “ballads” and has the ability to rip your heart out with her emotive vocals. TW truly have two bona fide lead singers and Ale could complete the trifecta if she ever chooses to sing lead on a consistent basis as she has a beautiful voice as well. So much talent in one family it’s almost criminal…

Dany’s emotional vocals on When I’m Alone is only matched by one other song imho it is Pau delivering “Black Holes”. For The Warning to have the only 2 songs that have emotionally impacted me in last 20 years is amazing. Rock on DPA.

No backing vocals. This is Dany's song. ❤ You should hear some of her midnight concerts, when she would just play music she wanted to share with the community. Just Dany and a guitar most of the time, and songs from other artists that hit special places for her. Believe it or not, she was at one time considered the weak link in the band. I think that has been proven many times over just flat wrong. There are no weak links in this band. Dany is love ❤!

Here's another way they can go, write, and perform the music they want and ignore the haters. They are 3 great musicians and people who never hide that they are born and raised and still live in Mexico, they are great ambassadors of Mexico.

Be pretty tough for them to produce a Spanish language album when signed to an American label. Sincerely doubt the label would finance an album that can only really be marketed to certain countries when they can market an English album to the majority of the world. I also don’t get the vibe from TW that they care all that much about people calling them malinchista. They know where they’re from and are much more secure in their nationality than others appear to be. I think Narcisista gave a pretty clear indication of how they feel about the criticisms they have received. What’s so wrong with wanting your music to be enjoyed by a majority of the world? Maybe they have loftier expectations of their musical career than catering to a single or smaller subset of countries. They already do a majority of their high end concerts in Mexico and do represent Mexico extremely positively on an international stage. It seems to me that those that criticize them for which language they predominantly choose to write and sing in may be displaying latent xenophobia…
