Stray Kids produce 99% of their own music and they write the lyrics themselves. They always hv interesting dynamics/ structure in their songs, and incorporate dramatic beat changes (or vocal changes) so we can never predict what comes next. I love them for that. In God’s Menu esp, they wanna make a statement abt their color/ character as an artist. They’ve got a lot of menus in their discography which entirely cooked by themselves (like God, they’re the creator/ creative ppl behind every single craft). Which makes everything genuine and taste different from general kpop music. If you check out more of their music, you’ll see they hv strong characters/ distinct sound (mischievious, yet witty and playful). I enjoyed your reaction!

Because they are self produced Kitchen- cooking tracks Lab- experiment with sound Construction- constructing tracks Race track- racing others/ not staying in one lane SKZ are said to be just noise specifically this song and Side Effects which is why the NoEasy or Noisy album was released. Half the songs on the album are made for the haters, and especially Cheese in which the chorus says “do you think du du du du du du(gods menu) is funny, you think headaches(side effects)are funny, do you think A class vibes are funny”. So in other words you say we are noisy, but you know what, we became famous with these songs, so Cheese you clowns…

Fun fact: GM was not the original title song meant for this album (GO Life). According to them they originally had another song that was already recorded and the whole album was already finalized and were about to shoot the MV when 3Racha finished this song and all of the members really liked it. They apparently took it to JYPe and he liked the song and pretty much told them to do whatever they wanted...so they did lol. This song was more or less addressed to new fans and their haters. It introduced them to new fans as a group that can "cook" up any dish with any flavor for any tasty- they are a self produced group that can/have explored many genres and have a variety of songs. It also addressed their haters since so many of them call their music "noisy" and "construction music", especially since Side Effect- that why you see the construction sites in the MV and also "Noeasy" is a pun(?) on that.

Apart from the leader of skz, Bang Chan, they also have dance leader called Lee know. He was a professional dancer and participated in World of Dance South Korea 2016. He also choreographed their predebut song hellevator. They're such a unique group 🔥

Actually Stray Kids is known for amazing performers (dancing), and they have won the show Kingdom Legendary War in 2021. All the performances they’ve done on Kingdom is mind blowing. Also the year end music shows performances are also super impressive as they remix all their songs for their special performances. Anyway, the next song to check out, I’ll suggest Back Door, Scars, Mixtape OH, Thunderous, Christmas EveL, Winter Falls.

I love your reactions. I'll just give some background info bc stays tend to say self-produced with no context lol. so you know 3racha but obviously they will work with other ppl for song production. One person that often works with bang chan on the arrangement level is versachoi (not a member of stray kids or any group). he worked on gods menu along with quite a few other songs. I wanted to give him some credit as he's really part of the team especially in terms arranging songs for award shows (along with bang chan). They've said recently that go live era / gods menu era is where they feel like they found their sound. In terms of percentage of what 3racha is credited for, writing/lyrics ~100% and do a lot of composing ~90%! arranging is ~35% and so far its really only bang chan. although bang chan has started to gain a lot more credits with arranging in the recent comebacks (go live and after its ~60%) and is credited for arranging all the skz-players (not included and only released on youtube)

This is when they were really finally honing in on their signature sound. Their discography is incredibly diverse, both from before and after this point, but they themselves have said this is when they really started understanding what their unique SKZ sound is. And yes, they're absolutely saying something. The latest full album, NOEASY, literally starts off with the first four songs being various levels of clapbacks and diss tracks about the hate they receive for being loud and making "noise music." They're no longer pulling any punches. But God's Menu started that momentum of pushing back. "This is our style. We're unique. No one can copy us. We make so much different stuff that there's something for everyone. Even if you don't like one thing, you're gonna end up coming back to find something else because we'll draw you back in." And then filling the video with imagery about creation and noise and going one's own speed and experimenting. 5:28 Yes, both times are Felix. Parts like that will virtually always be Felix. Also, referred back to that fakeout -- which is now well known -- in the title track "Thunderous" on NOEASY, as it's the direct successor to God's Menu and then Back Door. People went into Thunderous anticipating the "wtf is this song structure" form of God's Menu, and SKZ knew that would happen and thus structured a specific moment in Thunderous to mock anyone assuming they can predict what SKZ will do, when they have the creative freedom to do pretty much whatever they want and aren't following a path laid out for them. I don't have a feel for your musical tastes yet, so I hesitate to recommend any specific song. Some reactors are open to the wide-ranging diversity of SKZ's music, while others are only interested in the title-track bangers (and miss out on some of the best songs, but whatever). Plenty of people will gladly request the bangers from you, repeatedly, so you'll already see those titles come up. If you're open to more than only the bangers, the best thing to do is simply start with the very first predebut song, Hellevator, and work your way forward (including not just mv's, but also performance vids, special vids, street mv's, etc, because again, some of the best stuff doesn't have an official mv, especially in the earlier stage of their time). SKZ doesn't make skippable songs, and factoring in alternative-language versions and the SKZ-Player/SKZ-Record releases, they have close to 140 titles already, everything from the bangers to ballads to psytrance to experimental to hiphop to r&b and more.

SKZ discography is very versatile, they experimented with so many different music genres. I honestly love everything they do. As you said, their dancing skills are insane!!! Imho they are one of the most complete groups out there, they don't lack in anything. Only kpop group I really stan. Stray Kids have said that this song in particular really helped them cement their sound/style. There are so many of their songs I would recommend including a few that do not have mvs. One's with mvs - "Miroh", "Victory Song", "Back Door", "Any" (one of my favorites), "All In" (a song from one of their Japanese albums), "Thunderous", "Cheese" (one of the best dis tracks out there, imo), and although it is no longer the season "Christmas Evel". "Domino" has a dance practice video but no actual mv (just a teaser). Ones without a video I recommend are "The Tortoise and the Hare" and "SSICK". Really their "IN LIFE" and "NOEASY" albums are definitely worth a listen. If you haven't checked out their performances on "Kingdom: Legendary War", you really should. Their stage performances can be insane.
