They record some of their concerts to show them in cinemas and also to release them on DVD/Blu-ray. They sometimes take this footage, add some visual effects and replace the audio with the studio version to release music videos. The Fox God is efficient and clever. 🦊👍

Thanks for the reaction. Technical and melodic, that's what Babymetal does every time to some degree with mixing (sub)genres of course. Babymetal got a couple of great regular music videos: Megitsune, Karate, BxMxC and iine and maybe Doki Doki Morning. That said, for a first experience at least BxMxC and maybe Karate would recommend a live performance over the MV.

I like the progressive metal elements, that heavy breakdown and the existential questions. There's also a reference to Macbeth in the lyrics besides the obvious lines famously known by Snow White tale. Here's some official info: Mirror Mirror (MIRROR) _Mirror, mirror on the wall...this song embodies a parallel world where the world inside the mirror and the world of reality go back and forth._ _Is what you see in the mirror your true self or the self you wish to be?_ Mirror Mirror was the 5th and final single they released from this new album called The Other One released in March showing us a new sound and a BM side we've never seen before with this metalverse. This was at BabyMetal Begins - The Other One - Clear Night live at PIA Arena MM, Yokohama, last April 2nd with MomoMetal debuting as the new official third member, she was one of the avengers since 2019 and we're all proud of her, but don't think this as a replacement of YuiMetal, she's like a new incorporation to this group for this new lore and metalverse era. Also the BM logo change, it doesn't have the skull and the heart in the B letter, as well there's only three feathers in the logo unlike four prior to this. The Western Kami Band was in charge of these shows. They performed this at Sabaton's Europe Tour and recently at Hong Kong, everyone is having a blast with their classic songs and the new one So far no one is having any copyright blocked with the new official songs from this album so you won't need to blur or any extra filters effect, don't worry about it. After Yui left the group, Babymetal struggled to find a new formula which fit well. They trialled anywhere between two and I think five extra back-up dancers to join Moa and Su, but nothing worked as well as having three people on stage for the sake of symmetry. Resorting back to 3 people on stage, the third slot was filled with various dancers (not singers at that point as they weren't members of the group). For a long time now only one supporting dancer has been filling that third slot and that's Momo. Finally on the 1st April this year they made her an official member of Babymetal, and this video which released on the 7th April, is the first time fans saw her as a full member - she has a mic and pigtails the same as Moa now to represent that.

Su-metal said in an early interview that they get bestowed by the fox god during their shows which enables them to perform as good as they do. Also Kobametal was receiving a revelations from the fox god that made him create Babymetal. There is a lot more lore around the fox god, the chosen seven, the metal galaxy, and sooooo much more 🤘🔥🦊

Great reaction, thanks! "Mirror Mirror" is one of my favorite tracks off the new album, THE OTHER ONE. And I don't even need to name my reasons to love this one because you already named them all. 😁 One of the best things about Su-metal is the fact she don't pretend to be a singer she is not. She has a beautiful, clear and powerful voice, she's accurate, has a great breath control and vocalizes perfectly. And that's all she needs (apart from being able to do her part of the choreo while she sings). And these are a lot of things, tbh. 😅

This is video of a live performance with studio audio. That is standard for Babymetal official videos. They usually save the live audio for their blu-rays and DVDs.

Great reaction. This is not the first time they have gone with Prog Metal - 'Tales of the Destinies' was full on prog and that was on their second album as long ago as 2016. You are right, for a lot of their official videos they film at a live concert (it is a live concert, it is not just made to look like one - this one was filmed at at PIA Yokohama on 1st and 2nd April), but they put the studio audio over the top of the live footage. We have to wait for the BluRay to get the live audio. You mentioned Polyphia, they did collaborate with Tim Henson and Scott LePage on the previous album - Metal Galaxy which was released in 2019. The song is "Brand New Day".

If you like this song then you'll like the new album because it lean's in this style musically, very heavy and yet melodically adventurous . So you should check out more from The Other One. Something similar from their earlier work you should react to is Tales of The Destinies followed by The One. They were originally meant to be one composition but were separated into two songs. They are a real tour de force when it comes to the prog genre of heavy metal 🦊🤘

For their videos, they generally film the concerts live and then overlay the studio audio for the "MV" or music video releases, I assume so that then the video plays count towards their streaming numbers. They then typically release a DVD/Bluray of the concert later on with the concert audio as a separate product. This is one reason why their label is such a bastard about copyright claiming reaction videos, Amuse just has like zero chill. They also aired a lot of this concert on a Japanese TV channel as a special event, but videos of that get quashed pretty fast since Amuse wants to monetize that footage via DVD/Bluray sales.

Love it! Super quick info .. since 2018 one of the original 3 (Yuimetal)had to dip out, and they had 3 different backups interchangeable for that vacant third spot, but they were never given mics or were officially part of the group. Momoko was one of those backups and had been with them the last few dozen or more shows, and now she's official with a mic! (Moametal was the other original member and is still there)

Foxes, or kitsune, are part of Japanese and Shinto culture and thus used in the Babymetal lore. Megitsune (female fox/vixen) is one of their most popular songs. Kitsune Sama or "The Fox God", as part of their lore, is the one who bestows the girls with the music and the locations of their performances. Thus foxes are used throughout their lyrics, performances, and also the lore.

Not sure if you are still watching the comments here, but the guitarists play 8 and 9 string guitars. What amazes me is how much Su`s vocals have matured in comparison to their older songs. They are one of my favorite groups. You should def do BxMxC...that one is off the chain...Especially if you like something WAY different. One thing you will never hear in BABYMETAL`s music is a pattern. They change up absolutely every song in one way or another. They are chock full of surprises every time!

With Babymetal you will learn that you don't ever know what you can expect! xD They have really technical songs (Tales of The Destinies), really fast paced songs (Sis Anger), you can have brutal breakdowns (Megitsune and Iine), really poppy songs (Da Da Dance), dubstep mixed in (Uki Uki Midnight, Fom Dusk TIll Dawn), Bollywood influences (Shanti, Shanti, Shanti) and much more :D Babymetal Never gets boring :)

Great reaction guys, this was filmed during the 2-day show in April at the PIA arena MM tho the audio is the studio version. We are still waiting for the Blu-ray release to get the live audio of all the new tracks. If you want that fast-paced drumming and intricate guitar work, I recommend the song Arkadia however it is the last song in a trilogy, so it is recommended to watch them in order Starlight, Shine and Arkadia. Regarding foxes and Babymetal: they use a modified "devil horns" sign prepresenting a fox head, fox in japanese is kitsune, and Babymetal also talks a lot of fox god. Oh and the main singer name Su-metal comes from her name Suzuka

So, someone has probably already said this but just in case, this was from an actual live performance that includes the Gimme Chocolate video you watched, however when it comes to the "OFFICIAL" videos from BABYMETAL, they tend to use the studio audio instead. Unless it says LIVE you wont be hearing the live audio. There is a an actual LIVE version of this performance out there on KZbin.

During the 4 years of using the 3 rotating Avengers (the other 2 were Riho Sayashi and Kano Fujihira). Babymetal videographers would mostly film only 2 thirds of the stage to avoid having one of the Avengers in the shot since they were not official members. It's really good that Momometal (Momoka Okazaki) was finally promoted to full member. She put in the work and deserved the promotion. Now they don't need to avoid 1/3 of the performance in videos anymore. There was a fourth unofficial avenger (Saya HIrai) to be used in Yuimetal's vacated spot that received a huge amount of hate/blacklash for standing in the 3rd spot. Using her showed Babymetal's producer that 3 members is better (hence the Avenger's era) even though the poor girl received so much hate for just doing what she was asked to do.

I am glad I don't go to most social media places if Saya was getting hate - I never saw any of that at all, not even the smallest hint. I only ever saw love and appreciation for her efforts and people at the time hoping that she would be named as the new third member.

This is also the "western" kami band in this video (different then the original kami band as seen in Rondo of Nightmare) ...how can you tell, their white dudes. They switch in and out depending on their schedule conflicts

The Western Kami band has not had any member changes or swaps that anyone is aware of. Chris Kelly, CJ Masciantonio, Clint Tustin, Anthony Baronne. Spelling may be wrong but they are all Americans and most used to play in Galactic Empires. The Eastern Kamis have been really stable too. BOH, Hideki and Takayoshi have been the same pretty much from the beginning. Leda, Mikio and ISAO would switch off but Leda and ISAO have been pretty much it lately with Mikio's passing.
