The Warning did a behind the scenes vid about meeting BM in Japan, collaborating and performing together on stage. They needed interpreters because English is 2nd language for the Warning and most BM members have very little english. To pull off a live show and a mv in a week or so is amazing.

I kinda feel like people who are comparing the bands skill wise are missing the point of this video. To me this is the two bands celebrating being able to get together, and just having fun playing with each other. We all know both bands skill level is way above what they do here, but the song doesn't need the more complicated stuff. It's just for fun.

I had no idea that fans were comparing, even when this song is pretty recent. But I suppose a bit of toxic competition was a bit expected eventually & unfortunately. There has also been toxic comparisons between the fanbases of the Maids vs. BabyMetal in the past, for example. Probably a bunch of adults acting like angsty snobby teenagers, sadly. People need to see the bigger picture & realize this is just music & the entertainment industry, i.e. SHOWBIZ, just as pro-sports & movies are also part of showbiz, in that it is not really that hugely important to debate over. 08/12/24

First, we need to get a Band-Maid t-shirt for Sam, so when you do future Band-Maid and The Warning collabs, you can represent both bands.😂 Glad you guys did this and liked it. I had a feeling you would lose it at the bass solo section. I think Kanami, with input from everyone, did a great job blending the two styles. And in typical Band-Maid composition style, allowed everyone to shine. in the PRS Japan interview, Dani and Kanami eluded to another collaboration and Band-Maid going to Mexico. So, sounds like more collabs between these two AWESOME bands. 🤞 And to think, this all came out of a meeting with each other at the 2022 Aftershock. One thing I love about both bands is that they perform in a balanced way, with everyone shining and no prima-donna ego attitudes. Part of how they've each lasted so long together. And yes of course DPA are sisters, which helps, but by that only goes so far by itself.

Kanami and Dany said in a joint interview that they plan another collab, this one in Mexico and maybe in Spanish. IDK the timeframe. A lot of things have to be worked out in the background to pull off these sorts of things because they live 12 time zones away and have different labels, just to name two. Kanmai started the composition, presented it to the est of BM, produced a demo that they presented to TW. After some back and froth between both bands they arrived at this arrangement. IDK if they recorded the entire thing in Japan or if they did some of the recording remotely. Obviously, they did the music video together in Tokyo within the two or so weeks that TW arrived in Japan early before their first show there. They also rehearsed the song for their joint performance back in June, which they pulled off in spectacular fashion.

It's also important that this is "Band Maid WITH The Warning". In other words a Band Maid song featuring The Warning on it. If they do another collaboration (which has been mooted) it may well be a "The Warning with Band Maid" song to go on a Warning album.

The song was composed by Kanami and the initial lyrics by Miku, with some changes suggested by TW (who are obviously more fluent in English) to help them flow better. Reportedly, Band Maid recorded their instrumental parts first, then TW recorded theirs and the vocals when they got to Japan. When they played it live in Tokyo, both drummers played in synch for most of the song except for the breakdown duels. Haven’t seen that since Lynrd Skynrd. 😎👍

@@TWA-4-ever Its a matter of opinion. I am a fan of both bands. The Warning make catchy and pure hard rock stuff after a kind of standard pattern and BAND-MAID is more complicated. BAND-MAID is also older. Older people tends to be more sophisticated. As I said, I am fan of both, find them both outstanding. The Warning will never make "From now on" and BAND-MAID will never make "Dust to Dust".

Chris and Sam - how much fun did you have doing this 😁- about as much as both groups had doing that 😁😆 I watched a fan copy of the 1st live release, and I enjoyed it then - but studio releases can be different as we've heard multiple times with multiple bands. So I am pleasantly surprised with the official release. I was also very surprised at Dany and Saiki's voices - apart from the accent, it was at times difficult to tell them apart. Add to that, I was impressed with Saiki's English (with very little of that Asian roll off the tongue). I've tried to listen to BM before, but songs in other languages (includes TW

Do you know how this collab came to be? The two bands knew of each other then got to meet at a festival here in the States. Theres a video of them neeting, and it was so cute seeing them get so excited! They talked about getting together to collaborate on something. Thats how TW wound up in Japan to play a show with BM! As I said, I was lucky enough to get drawn in the lottery for tickets and I went, to Japan, just for the concert and im so glad I did. TW played a set fur about an hour, then BM came out and did the same. Then, they brought TW back kn stage to kind of play with the audience for a bit. But, as they were doing THAT, we coukd see the stage hands bringing TW's amos, and Pau's drum kit back out next to Akane's kit! We knew we were in for something special. They played this song, and it killed! But it was not like a competition between the instruments, they complimented each other. The cooll thing though, was the affection and heartfelt respect they had for each other! It made me cry! Now, I'm going to see the Warning 5 times in 4 countries over the next few months! I love both of these groups so much. I gitta say, I'm disappointed a bit in your reaction. It seemed rushed and the song didn't get the attention it deserved. But perhaps i was expecting too much. I love watching you guys, and that's why I've been anticioating your reaction ever since the video hit nearly a week ago!

Both bands showed their capabilities. Band-Maid is more technical in their playing. The Warning is a talented rock band. Also, the Warning is very young. Who knows where their playing will be in ten years.

If I mentioned that was because to BM fans, at the end it is always about their technical abilities.. and call me what ever you want to, but for me is boring. I mentioned the basist from the other band because she may also be better than BM bassist. I know is not about competition... but with many BM fans it looks it is like that all the time. At the end of the day, everyone likes to feel good when others feel the same as you when liking certain bands, but it is what it is.

They didn't mention any number of songs. According to a Japanese fan, what Kanami said was ambiguous. It's possible there will only be one more and it may or may not already be written. The translation that mentions songs in plural was not reflective of what she actually said.

Why would they collab in Spanish? Both bands already performed Show Them in their 2nd language. If BM does a collab in Spanish then TW should do a third in Japanese. It’s only fair…lol. How about a collab where both bands each get a verse in their native language then have the chorus in English? That would be even more multinational! I like the call and response of the bass, drums and guitars. In my opinion Misa, Akane, Miku and Kanami have a more technical approach when playing their respective instruments, while Dany, Pau, and Ale are in full bad ass rock mode. I love both band and I hope we see more collaborations between them

Different styles? Yeah. Wait until you hear Ale throw down some funk bass riffs. There's an interview on YT with both bands. Band Maid wrote the song before The Warning traveled to Japan. When they got together, they worked together to blend The Warning's sound into it. Dany then suggested that Band Maid come to Monterey Mexico where they'll write the song and blend Band Maid's sound into it.

I think Ale is playing with Akane and Misu wiht Pau for most of the song. Misu is playing a syncopated beat while Ale is doing sixteenth wtih slides. I think I got this right/

Actually it’s still her red 24-08 (notice the white pick-up covers) and has the standard bird inlays. The new guitar is “dirty blond” and has black pick-up covers along with those cool custom abstract bird inlays. I don’t believe she had even received the new one when this vid was shot. In the PRS interview with Kanami and Danny, which was apparently recorded about the same time as this MV, Kanami said she was looking forward to receiving her new guitar.

The song belong to Band Maid album, the song was written by Band Maid. The songs is Band Maid 'with' The Warning and not Band Maid 'and' The Warning!

Kanami wrote the demo then both bands worked together to create the finished song. --Now, let's talk about "SHOW THEM," which was born from the collaboration between the two bands. How did the production process go? Kobato : First, Kanami came up with the foundation for the song, and then we had the three members of The Warning listen to it. KANAMI : Yes. I thought that The Warning and BAND-MAID have a common image of heavy rock, so at first I made a pretty dark song. However, I felt that everyone would be able to imagine it that way, so this time I deliberately tried to make a song that would bring out new sides of each of us. That's how "SHOW THEM" was born. The members of The Warning made some changes to the demo I made, saying things like "How about this?" Then we made new suggestions and repeated this process many times until it was completed. Kobato : We've had a few remote meetings as well. Daniella : When I heard the demo that KANAMI made for me, I was very surprised because it was a completely different direction from the songs we usually make. But I immediately started looking forward to how we could mix our own colors into it. Specifically, I suggested changing the chord progression a little. Paulina : Then I wrote the B-melody and changed the melody a little to make it fit the English. That was difficult, but it was also fun. Daniela : Yes. I think it was great that we were able to exchange detailed opinions on the lyrics and other things while keeping the atmosphere of the KANAMI demo. As a result, I think the finished product turned out really well. Kobato : I think it's a song we could never have made on our own, po. The sensibilities of people overseas give us new discoveries. We had a lot of realizations like, "Oh, there's a way to do this!" po. Alejandra : Hahaha. That's a good mix! KANAMI : I really think so. Dani (Daniela)'s scream at the beginning of the song was included at the suggestion of The Warning, and I thought it was a really interesting idea. I tend to use slightly strange chords (laughs), but I think it was good that they made it easier to understand. I learned a lot from how to make a melody that fits well with English.
