The Warning is a rock band from Monterrey, Mexico, consisting of three sisters: Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villarreal. Aside from Pau's stunning vocals, her composition skills are amazing. I don't think they have any more formal training other than that five week music camp at Berklee. Very sophisticated writing, but also very subtle.

When she initially did this performance, I remember thinking how clever it was of her to employ that ominous, somber lighting and setting - given the songs she chose to play. And Adrian's right, the piano situation played right into the whole mood or vibe of her performance. Great reaction guys! ⚡️🤘

For Stalker, I love the repeated phrase, "It' crazy how much...". As she descends into madness and obsession, her words reveal enough self awareness to flood the song with deep irony. Another example of powerful lyrics that are composed in their second language yet are so evocative, so thematically aligned and so viscerally insightful.

Something about this setting reminds me of the Mona Lisa. I wish i knew how to paint. One of the best song writers of this century. Edit: I always hear "Dream On" by Aerosmith when i listen to The End. The piano intro cadence and progression, then the harmonies on the bridge.

Since you are diving DEEP into their catologue you might check out Crimson Queen at the Foro DIdio. Dany's guitar pickups failed and she sings the first half a capella. The malfunction seems to really amp up the intensity in her singing and Pau and Ale go right with it. Also one that doesn't get seen very often is Dull Knives at Heaven and Hell 2018. 13 year old Ale in pigtails with her teenage sisters in front of a serious crowd of Metalheads waiting for acts like Ozzy, Deep Purple, Gojira, Sabaton etc.. is really amazing performance.

It’s crazy how much I love this! I know it seems strange. I’ve seen this before, but it’s just nicer watching it with someone. She cast some magical spell. I know they did these on piano. At least Paul worked them out on piano. I’d sure love to see something with a start to finish of a song. Thanks guys for doing this and by the way, Glenn, I liked your piano recitals. Pau is an amazing drummer with a cool dark vibe here. Her voice works for Black holes and The End but is too thin for Stalker. It lacks the Rock grit that Dany brings to the table.

Thanks guys....been a while since hearing these from Paulina. As you may be aware this home piano is "classically" somewhat out of tune and it is one of the highlights when the girls play on this piano...we all know it and look forward to it...part of the overall ambiance. To me the lighting, for some reason, gave me a Mona Lisa vibe with how Pau looks in this....weird but, that is what struck me first off. This was great as always...thanks for the continuing journey with the Ladies......never ever gets old. Love these Ladies...Pau is such a character.

Ok, here's what I think needs to happen. You and The Warning get together and arrange for the production and casting of the musical "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE , THE PHANTOM OPERA TWO". I'll wait here for my free tickets 😊. Although it might sound crazy, I can envision THE WARNING having their album become a musical on Broadway some day. I would be the first to buy tickets.

For sure. As Dany says, they give the song just what it needs. Even if it’s just piano & stings? (I.E. ‘Escape the Mind’🫶. Or ‘Black Holes’ @Pepsi Center🫶) or the piano accents in their early works. I’d guess they’d revisit those combinations someday as time & inspiration allow.

She didn't start Black Holes right away to wait for people to join in; that's why she kept looking at the phone. Of all the piano videos I've watched of them, this is the loudest and "worst" the piano has sounded. I guess she placed the phone in a different place than they usually do. Still, it's a very good performance (I loved the way she ended The End). Stalker and The End are two of my favorite QOTMS tracks.

It's 2 originals and 1 cover. Black Holes and Show Me the Light are both from their first album. SMtL is just not played often. The Dakota Bar performance is great in that it includes one of the best guitar solos. No shredding but more like a David Gilmore thing that was appropriate to the song.
