With Atmos I’m guessing it is 36 speakers all at once, which is crazy to think of (so much for my 7.1😢) I recall someone asking (after KMF) if DPA approve the atmos mixes & they said yes, they have final say but they didn’t have a way to listen to it so they were just “ok,🤷‍♀️ if you like it go with it”

A friend of mine is good friends with Matt Pinfield. Huge bummer that he had this stroke. I can only hope that he can recover well from it, but the details aren't yet clear. I happened to bump into Matt once at a concert in the NYC area and talked with him briefly... super nice guy.

In 2021 they were 21, 19, and 16. I think they were a year younger when they wrote the songs for the Mayday EP. How they came up with songs like Evolve, Disciple, and Martirio when they were basically teenagers is beyond me. Those songs were well beyond their years.

they have answered on the longer set question and the gist is they wanna give there best to all the fans so if they doing 3 shows in a row they wanna pace themselfs so all get the same experience. as if they go all out on first show the energy would be lower for the upcoming shows or weeks

Yes Breathe is marked as A Bonus track,and originally only to be the studio version not to be done in public according to the agreement .That changed at the Pepsi Center Show .

Yes, both January 2022 shows were cancelled. I had tickets for the January 22nd show. I rescheduled to the May 24th show, where Alessia Cara sang Enter Sandman with them for the only time. No one knew that she was going to be there that night. Also, I believe that The Warning had already recorded their new version of Enter Sandman before this interview. I guess they still had to keep it a secret. I remember that Ale could not sing during the recording, due to her oral surgery. However, she did pretend to sing on the video, when she was standing in the archway. I also seem to remember that Dany and Pau met Alessia Cara for the first time on this trip to L.A. I believe it was outside of the Capitol Records building.

36 actual speakers. You need that many because of all the ways you can steer the sound. There are a zillion different configurations possible. Mastering 3D is a technology marvel. I have had a hard enough time with my 7.2 setup that adding 4 more channels might blow my personal fuses (and budget - cutting 4 holes in the ceiling plus wiring, 4 new speakers of similar timbre and 4 more channels of amplifiers). It's possible to do with just two but that really a kludge.

I think they mean 36 sets of speakers. A good production/mix will do that to be sure it sounds as good as possible for as many kinds of set up as possible. Cheaper production services sometimes will mix it using some high quality studio reference speakers and it'll sound great but then other set up (car, phone, laptop ect.) Can potentially loose a lot from the mix. Anytime a new song is out I'm excited about I always run it on several devices and speakers to see if I'm missing anything on the first listen. This was the week before or after the recorded ES for the black list. Only 20 viewers doesn't sound right even then. It definitely wasn't promoted enough I know I wasn't there and 100% would've been. Plus it could've been more than 1 platform at the same time who knows how many were on others if so. But yeah, TWA has definitely grown a lot since then and all platforms would have much bigger

For atmos? Edit: I’m probably confused about what I’m remembering here lol, but it’s worth reading up to find out for sure! This is my memory: I actually have a vague memory of studying it and there being that many actual individual speakers, with their own levels controls through the algorithms of the atmos logic but also by a special mix that has to be engineered for this result. And they all operate simultaneously and are carefully matched… However i have no idea if they actually do that with the warning… it’s news to me if they do! For mixing and mastering, certainly a few sets of speakers and listening environments and levels are needed, yea totally

@don-music very likely that's what it is, I'm not knowledgeable about Atmos just making an educated guess about what they meant. I would love to know more though for sure. I'm kinda a audio junkie, lol.

I know that when you check the mixes on songs, you often want to listen to them on various types of speakers to get the idea of how it will sound through different outputs... like how it will sound in a car... or how it will sound on a home system... etc... My guess is they listened to it on a lot of different combinations? 36 seems like overkill, though.

I have since learned it actually is 34 speakers - maxing out the capabilities of the Dolby Atmos system! 24 surround the listener, and 10 more from the ceiling.
