That solo is perfect. The eastern sounding lick (right before he hits the open string dive bomb and does the pull-off lick again) is so eerie, which really serves a song about an HP Lovecraft story. Anyone know what he's doing there theory-wise? I hear a harmonic minor-like pattern but it sounds like he throws in an outside note and I don't know what scale it is in context with the rhythm underneath.

Very cool! Kirk and I have the same birthday, Nov 18th, and have been playing almost the same amount of time. This rocks. 🤘😁

Wow, James Hetfields guitar, Eric Clapton’s guitar, Eddie Van Halen’s guitar, now Kirk Hammett’s guitar. Some of my favorite guitarists of all time! You are a very lucky man 😂

Kirk was an incredible guitar player in his time. So creative Definitely one of my heroes

Kirk Hammett is a guitar novice, but that could sound disrespectful for all the people starting to play guitar, if you mind his full absence of playing skills. Dude can’t even hold it properly. One of the worst of famous guitar players of all time. And he was never any good. Not even mediocre. And btw maybe for that reason he didn’t write anything for Metallica at all.
@cadrejeff Жыл бұрын
For sure! Kirk Hammett inspired everything I do on guitar and he’ll always be in my top 3.
@Bark3rd3 жыл бұрын
what did you think of the feel of the guitar? The sustain? The overall quality? How was it on its own as an instrument? And man, you nail those solos! Makes me appreciate how difficult the decptively simple stuff Kirk plays really is.

Cunning stunts defined my youth. I watched it every Friday evening after school for years. I can even recite all the small talks between songs James would have. This makes me so happy 👍 you’re lucky man.
@TheDeadmandillon3 жыл бұрын
I fucking love the Cunning Stunts live show DVD! I originally grew up with the same concert on VHS, then twenty-ish years later here I am, watch you play Kirk's rifts and solos on his iconic guitar. Fuck yeah, I'd love to play me some E1M1 in the style of Mick Gordon on that same guitar and with a set of Baritone Ernie Ball strings.

If this man didn’t record the Metallica vs. Jimi Hendrix pt. 2 video while he had this guitar, I am going to be unimaginably angry.

Love, love, love and love again. If I ever go back to FR guitar - Hammett. I'm a Papa Het fan but there's no Earth without Kirk's guitars - design so great I'll pay that money one day. One of the most beautiful guitar series in the World. Kirk.

What an honor congrats to you man you've done your homework you've done your thing and you've earned every bit of what you're doing I'm searching for the tracks that he played that Fernandes Strat style guitar on because I just love those like one

Lars is not a great drummer, Kirk is ok, but yeah James is very underrated he’s really an all time great rhythm player for me. And yes Cliff was a genius.

Never played a Hetfield model. Owned an LTD KH602 for a while and gotta say, it was AMAZING! The neck was smooth as silk the locking nut was perfect, the floyd rose was one of the easiest I ever "tinkered" with, and the sound was a dream. That fretboard was beautiful (could see reflections in it). I always wanted a Hetfield though. The ESP EX series was cool imo. I'm an Explorer guy so...

My favourite Kirk moment was when they hand a guitar to Robert so he can show him to play phrigyan instead of pentatonica 😂
