I just wanted to take a moment to express my sincerest gratitude for including my band, Merle Jam, in this video. We were the band playing rock and metal at the Mellow Mushroom. It really is an honor to be included alongside such talented musicians as yourself and the other artists on here. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

I was in Nashville in 2016. Amazing place. On the Broadway at 11am, hanging out all day, dropping into different bars. Different styles of music, Western Swing to Allman Brothers. Take in the great museums like the Country Music Hall of Fame, Johnny Cash Museum, grab something to eat, move on, couple of beers. Just keep on going until the early hours. Get some sleep and come back and do it all over again!

I spent a week in Nashville on Broadway. I'm 66 years young and have been a musician all my life. I watched everything from straight ahead country to metal bands. It's the most fun strip in music! I talked with so many musicians. They were the friendliest people I've ever met in music. No big egos. Just hard-working musicians who respect their audience and are having a great time playing. I hope they all reach their dreams. I'll be back next winter and can't wait.

Nashville native here- most people that play on broadway are from out of state. Travelled to Nashville to “make it” in the music scene. It’s true, everybody and their dog plays music in TN. If you really want to get to the heart of Nashville natives who are the most talented musicians in the world, to include the musicians who play for all kinds of types of music and artists all over the world, go to the outskirts on the weekends. There are all kinds of blues bars and places where musicians will go to AFTER they’ve played in front of tens of thousands of people that night while on tour. I grew up going to places like this. I’ve played with all kinds of people. Written songs with people on platinum records etc… and I’m not even a pro musician. Just love to play. Great video, now I’m homesick, thanks!

Luke is a super nice guy .I first saw him play when he was 15 and was blown away that he'd only been playing for 4 years. He was finishing up Texas Flood and broke a string. He completed the song on 5 strings, replaced the string and was in tune in time for his next solo as the band kept going the whole time.

I was in Nashville a week ago cuz my girlfriend got tickets to the eras tour over there. We stumbled upon the bar Luke plays at and him and his band immediately left an impression on me. All the other bars had great musicians in them too, but they were the only ones doing this sort of high-energy chicken pickin country blues type stuff that I found absolutely fascinating. So cool to see you posted a video with Luke! Was reelin' after seeing them perform.

I was born in Nashville, I'm now 66 & lower Broad has always been the place to play & witness..The Turf, Music City, The Demons den are all gone now.. But I gotta say it's grown leaps & bounds since the 90s..I was tour guide at CMHF & studio B..I even snuck into Belmont & took many audio & music biz classes till I got caught..LOL..My dad owned a couple of Texaco stations & later a neighborhood grocery store & I guess I met damn near everyone who was anybody..Willy Nelson was moving out of a house as my family was moving in..My mom was pregnant with me at the time & later Brenda Lee would shop at my dad's store & I actually played bass with her when I w was 14 or 15 but I was into southern rock at the time & it was far to country for me at the time..LOL.. I had a little recording studio at 30 years old & Danny & Frankie Toler from Gregg Allman band would play on my songs & I would play on there ideas. ( I knew Gregg very well) & they were all great guys..Look out for my up coming book, Hopefully..(' Chicken Coops to Coupe DeVilles' , growing up in Nashville in the 60s & 70s) What a blessing it was to grow up in Nashville..And yes, I still play nearly everyday..Peace Out.

One of the best trips I've ever had was just randomly packing a backpack on a Friday after work and driving out to Nashville for a weekend to see what all the fuss was about. It's now a trip I try to make at least once a year. The amount of talent concentrated into a single place is absolutely incredible and you get a front row seat to all of it. If you have a passion for music to any degree, you really owe it to yourself to make a trip out there.

Love this. I've lived near Nashville my whole life and I've always said you can walk into any random bar on a Tuesday afternoon and hear the best music you've ever heard. Glad to see it being highlighted. Just throwing it out there, I recently attended Guitar Build Workshop down on 4th Ave and it was an all day awesome experience. You get to build a guitar from scratch, sand it, stain it, assemble it, set it up, play it and take it home with you. I think you would really appreciate it. Josh is the dude that runs it and he's a solidly awesome dude.

Used to live in Nashville and played on Broadway and loved it there and then things began to change!! My brother was a drummer there and wanted me to come down there and a couple of weeks before I got there he was killed in a motorcycle accident which broke my heart and 2 days later I left New Mexico where I was living and left for the city I always wanted to go to!! One really important thing I learned was that the music players are a big family and they loved my brother!! I didn't know anyone there but from day one I was blessed that the friends of my brother became my friends and took me under their wings!! First of all I was floored that they held a benefit at the Fiddle and Steel Guitar Bar where the owner Alison welcomed me (the bar is no longer there and it was the first place I played!!) and the friends of my brother helped raise the money to take care of his remains! I was a 95% Rock and Roller but always loved Country and my new journey began! One of his friends gave me a Merle Haggard CD said start with this song I learned the songs and started going down to Broadway and listened to as many bands as I could and eventually started gigging!! Played on and off for 8 years and saw the changes start to happen! Good friends were dying and a lot of the music changed to New Country which basically is Pop songs with banjos, fiddles and pedal steel!!! Then all the places they designated for musicians to unload and load gear disappeared! So many changes were happening and since I was older the work got harder to find so I eventually left and I must have had 50+ friends I had to leave behind!! I now play with a Country band in Florida around Orlando but I really miss the vibe of Nashville and will never forget it!! I became a decent country player but it was my friends there who taught me the ropes!! I really miss them and Nashville and hope to visit in the future!!!!

Such a great video. I'm a fellow guitar KZbinr and just happened to spend a few days in Nashville due to my day job, just a couple of weeks ago. I saw many amazing musicians. Was surprised how many 'serious' guitarists (like the guy in the Gibson Garage) were really dismissive of the hardworking musicians on broadway ("Its just Shania guitar-araoke. Really musicians would never play Broadway man!") . Your video captures that feeling of those guys on broadway. I loved it, it reminded me of my trip. I recognised Eva from seeing her, her brother and her key-tar performing. We had a great night. I couldn't believe how many songs those guys could play. Playing for tips is a tough gig and these guys play for 4 hours at a time. Looking forward to more of your videos from the Nashville circuit.

I was on the Brodway about a week ago. Being from Germany this was like a different planet. I have never even remotely seen so much musical talent packed in such a small space. There were incredible bands playing in front of maybe 15 people and they all had an awesome time. Then a girl came along who was a singer of another band, and she grabbed the microphone and they played a song with her. Simply amazing. Maybe the bacholerette parties are getting out of hand a bit, but I hope this music culture lives on for a long time. In contrast, Memphis seems to have seen uch better days in the past. It would be wonderful to have two music cities in Tennessee, one focusing on blues and rock'n'roll, the other on country and har rock, but from my one day in Memphis it seems they still have a lot to do to get even anywhere close to Nashville.
