till mid 80s they were incredible, avantgardish real 80s style, ahead of times..., after that it went down, derek and mick were needed, 80s BEST times ever!

Sorry, it didnt go down. It changed. It would have changed too if Mick was still there. No band stays the same really. I would love to see them get back together and write new music, but I cant agree with the comments that indicate that what became of Simple Minds isnt worth their salt. I hear other people saying U2 are rubbish since Joshua tree, disregards the great music theyve put out since. I think bands change from what they were while some people wanna hear them stay the same.

Mick MacNeil and Derek Forbes were the spinal Chord to SM and they galvanised as well as pushed the others in the force they were. Play any SM Tune with Mick and Derek in, and then play any SM Tune with them out and the difference is night and day. SM still made and play some great Music after the Spinal Chord had left, but it has never been the same.

Nice to see mick there.. just a shame he left when we he did.. The line up has kept changing since then and I’ve not liked that.. but I guess even for musicians life moves and changes!!!. Great memories though from that time👍👍

sorry to see Mick is mostly cut out from frame. If I could , Theme for Great Cities would be the top 2 or 3 Simple Minds songs. The fact you all keep kicking the ghost of The breakfast Club inside of me is sickening. DROP THAT FARKING SONG!!!! NOBODY CARES ANYMORE!!!... and also, please come to Canada more than once a decade, eh?!?
