TAKE MY MONEY!!!! i went to order a set, the MN668-6 piece medium set from SweetWater. I have been looking for a good AND affordable set, and these look AMAZING! But, it looks like they are all for "pre-order" and the only info I can find on that says "a few months"... I really want these, but will it really be a "few months"??? Is SweetWater the best place to order them to get them the fastest?
@MusicNomadCare4 жыл бұрын
Nathan, we have just introduced these and they will be available in Feb. 2021. Sweetwater will have them as fast as anyone. Sorry for the delay, but we decided to announce it early so people don't buy another inferior nut file and then see this too late. You can sign up on our website to be email alerted when and where it's first available. It will be worth the wait.

The file size is marked on the metal blade and you also get stickers to put on. Currently the 16 pc does not have a case, but they have hang holes. Case is in the works and will be available to purchase separately.

WARNING... I use nut files every day for the last 45 years and can't afford to find out these MN's are a let down. What is your return policy? StewMac allows returns forever. I have every file from Grizzly, Hiroshima, Ibanez, etc to those silly gauged rods all sitting in a drawer wasted. Most were butter knives after 6 mos. I'm done with not being able to return files that don't hold up or can't be replaced for the cost of shipping like the SM's.

I have Strats, Teles, Gretches and others with string gauges from 9 to 56... what kit should I get?
@MusicNomadCare3 жыл бұрын
The general rule is that the file should be the same size as the string, up to no more than .003" - .004" larger than the string. If you go much larger, the slot can become so large that the string vibrates in the slot, causing a buzz. If you use a file smaller than the string, the slot will be too tight, causing tuning issues. Due to the custom set strings your using can you please email our Guitar Tech at tech@musicnomad.com so he can help you further on which files you will need

Will there be options for wider files, ie 145 gauge strings?

Question, I seen a couple people online say the higher gauge files wear out after a couple uses and that the diamond plating wore out or didn’t last/hold up. So are these warranted against this? And can you buy just files without the plastic holder? Thanks
@MusicNomadCare2 жыл бұрын
We stand behind our product and if you have any issue with the files wearing out prematurely like your example, please contact us. MusicNomad's community of users is a family and we take care of them. There is normal wear and tear for heavy users or misuse but for the guitar player or hobbyist these should last a very long time. We don't sell replacement blades as the majority of the cost is in the blade and it is very rare you should have an issue. Our industrial Diamond Coated Grit with our unique blade design gives you a smooth, polished slot every time and is far superior to the common toothed files that cost around the same price. You will love them.

@@MusicNomadCare Thanks for the reply. I have been slowly buying your products and like and use most of them. I just bought your new style bridge pin remover and am waiting for its arrival. With nut files, I'm lucky to get maybe 1 to 2 years from steel files before they're only good to serve butter. I recently bought Hiroshima nut files from an on-line seller which a few of them were useless from day one. That allowed me to see how valuable the lifetime replacement warranty I get from where I typically buy them is. I've not yet sprung for any of their diamond files due to their astronomical price, so I am tempted to try yours IF I can be sure I'm covered. I get that their astronomical price IS what allows them to send free replacements, so I need to ask you exactly how long am I covered by your warranty, bein' that I'm practically family and all? : D

If something breaks from a manufacturing defect we stand behind our product and just reach out to us for a replacement. If there is normal wear and tear from use over 1000’s of cuts we don’t replace it. We don’t have an exact amount of cuts due to the various nut and bridge materials and hand pressure you can put on it. Cutting metal will shorten the amount of cuts you can do. If you are not happy with a product just reach out to us and we always try and make it right. info@musicnomad.com 707-939-5260
