Very beautyfull song of Irish. About love together with English. About love to London. About love to whole Britains islands, but most love to tehir mountains- from hearts of Irish- I told. I think so love together with English is more true than history of Wars with English. Myna thanks for this boutifull music. I was learned many about British history in this song- more than history education books.

In one verse it mentions the king of England, however in 1890 when this is written, wasn’t England under queen Victoria?
@emmelineburdett85375 жыл бұрын
Yes, but this song might be set before 1890 - I've heard another version, which doesn't mention buses at all, and for some reason this song always makes me think of Fanny Burney (an Eighteenth century English novelist).

At least that verse was written in 1903 after King Edward VII's official visit to Ireland

Completely wrong This is a tongue in cheek song written by Percy French a writer of many parody songs The Irish sense of humour obviously lost on you

@@dannyboy5517 I love the songs of Percy French. The lyrics to most of them are very clever and also poignant. For some reason I compare them to the clever and witty lyrics of the works of Gilbert and Sullivan. There’s something about that era, which produced such talent.
