Hey all,
I got a Musicom Lab efx mk-v switcher very recently and noticed there weren't any videos up so far about it so I thought I'd make my own. This is the first midi switcher / pedal looper I've owned and I am new to everything about it and switching generally. It is also the first time I've tried to make a video to upload onto KZbin!
As I show in the video, the first unit I bought had a fault that made it pop loudly and had to be returned. Due to Musicom Lab and Hyungwoo Kim having excellent customer support I decided to stick with this model rather than try another brand - though I admit I was put off by the first unit malfunctioning after a short amount of use.
I'm so glad I did though, as this unit is really great! It is super easy to use and fits so well with my current set up. It's just a personal decision of mine to make this video about it as I would have liked to view something online myself before purchasing, so perhaps it might help someone else make a decision.
For this video I just plugged in my guitar (American Strat) into the mkv and then went out into Guitar Rig 5 in Logic Pro X. I will make another video soon where I can let it shine a bit more through my actual amp, though this video is more about the functionality of the unit than the guitar - and it certainly isn't about my playing!
I'm the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in a rock cover band and an original music band, play gigs about twice a month, and the songs in the background of the video are ones that I wrote and recorded.
If you'd like me to make some other videos demonstrating more stuff about this pedal looper/switcher I'd be more than happy to. Alternatively, I can answer your comments and questions as best I can. Not because I'm an expert, but because I'm using the unit for rehearsals and gigs in a band context so I can possibly shed light on certain things, if you're still considering buying one.
Thanks for watching.
