Criminally underrated band that has been such a consistent force of powerful lyrics and riffs that slap you in the face. More Chevelle please! Joe left the band to pursue another career, they supposedly made the song Well Enough Alone (my favourite track) to say goodbye to their former bandmate, Pete took up the bass for a long time afterwards in recordings and live they fill that spot.

The brothers did not get along. Pete and Sam are very close. They wanted to tour heavy, create more music and a fanbase. Joe was not into the creative process and hated touring. They said Joe kept quitting the band and they would ask him to come back. The fourth time he quit, they said he’s done. Then he took them to court. Very contentious. Pete is the songwriter. He does not have vocal training, but he can do falsetto as well as he can do a scream. He has an impressive vocal range. So talented!

I love Chevelle. A lot of their older stuff is like if you mixed Tool, Deftones, and like…Creed or Breaking Benjamin. It's a little simpler, a little more "4/4 butt-rock", but vocals, instrumentation, and post-processing very clearly inspired by Tool and Deftones depending on the song you pick. And I mean that in a good way - I don't mean it to take away from their sound and the things they do really well.

One of Chicago's finest. I've seen them coming up in dive bars, in stadiums at festivals, arenas as a headliner, and on Fremont St. in Vegas. Pete and Sam are good dudes and one helluva band. I recommend Letter From a Thief and Shamful Metaphors as well.
