Great! 😍 Should an R&B singer songwriter work with a dj or a band when performing? Or just a back track of the file you made at home in your program? (I use ableton live)
@MTTC2 жыл бұрын
Great question. It all depends on the feel of your music, the venues you will be performing at, the audience you appeal to and the eneergy you want to convey when on stage. There is nothing that beats a singer supported by a full live band, with backing vocalists, no matter what the venue. However, the modern audiences are becoming more used to vocal performances delivered to backing tracks so that can be an option. Maybe start there and see what impact you have then add more to your line up as you go along. Cheers😀

Have you used any other DAWS besides FL? I started off with FL over a decade ago, but the workflow is so slow compared to other DAWS. My biggest thing with FL is having to pull up the mixer to add plugins. You should try Ableton or Pro Tools. It's way faster and an easier workflow.

How do you deal with creation fatigue? I need to get back to creating but I feel like, idk drained or like I need a break or something idk... New sub hear - Gr8 content - You should do live listens to creators and provide live feedback for creators..
@MTTC2 жыл бұрын
Firstly thanks so much for commenting and for your sub. I really do appreciate it. Regarding creative burnout I know exactly what you mean. I go through phases of that at least 3 times a year. I’m used to going pretty hard when I’m in the zone but that inevitably causes draining of my energy. At that point I completely stop and focus on other things for a good long spell until the hunger returns then I dive back in. My advice to you is to walk away from your DAW for a while and devote time to another fulfilling activity until the hunger returns. And yes, my live streaming plan will be launched this year. I truly value your comment. You get this month’s 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@@MTTC I love chill and 90s type tracks - I learned from you that even if you like the sound, the percussion section has to have some modern approaches (and it seems trap hats are the flavor of the decade).. Look into discord -you could have your own channel and have virtual teachings, classes, lessons and even studios time that shows your screen and allow you to communicate to people remotely and allows them to work in a studio and show their screen, provide the audio and speak to others in the same room.. (look up a public producer discord and join to take a look if your not familiar - I think you could leverage the tech a lot better than any group I have seen so far).

hi iam setting up my studio and rnb is my thing, especially90s and early 2000s. can you point me to where i can get those instrument textures? and were rnb drums often layered? they sounded so punchy but cute! my favorite Babyface song is "The Loneliness" and i am searching everywhere for knowledge on how to get those drums on this babyface song. they were juicy, fat and punchy at the same time! wow!! can you educate please? and you just got another subscriber
@MTTC3 жыл бұрын
Hey bro thanks for your message. Yes 90s R&B is very special to me also. Jam and Lewis from the 80s then LaFace for the 90s (early). Loneliness by Babyface is an absolute gem. Given that he was the king of producing R&B during this period he knew exactly what sounds would work for this song to shine. The drums are very well processed and I suspect are samples or straight from a drum machine. The rest is mainly acoustic instruments like guitar and strings. The bass is a synth bass and there are some nice pads too. The key however to beautiful tone of this song is the space created in the music. You will notice that not too many instruments are playing all at once which allows the drums, vocals and guitar to dominate. It brilliant in terms of production and a great example of how less can be more. Thanks for the sun bro and keep watching. Cheers 😀
