I can always count on Tommaso for reliable advice and concise explanations. I owe him a great debt of gratitude for improvements in my technique and understanding of the instrument. Thank you Tommaso!

long time ADHD here, recently diagnosed and on meds (meds made it much better btw), the thing that worked for me before was setting small goals for timed practice sections. Achievable things in the spawn of some bars like - going through this arpeggios, lets say Cmaj7, Bhalfdim, Emin7, back to Cmaj7. using chromatic approaches for the 3rd at 100bpm sixteenth notes. That should take about 20 bars... but just getting from point A to point B with proper clean technique would sometimes take 5, 6 tries.. but its such a small task that my brain could focus on this two arpeggio changes there.... then you add the third, get it wrong, get it right.... and repeat. Honestly, the meds worked great as I can finally focus for longer than 20 seconds, and a someone fighting the bouncer in the middle of a gig doesnt make me completely forget my own songs anymore, so I highly advise for people with it to look for treatment. Still, the work method worked - and still works quite well. Small chuncks, keep the brain in its toes to get this chunks right and connect them.

Ahh, an "Interval Timer"...I usually do "Hey Google, set a timer for 5 minutes." The first couple of minutes usually go pretty well, but then I check for tigers, aka I start watching the count down instead of focusing. If I blocked the screen, I bet at the same time in, I start going "OK, how much longer do I have to go?". Right now I have really been trying to focus on my strumming & chord changes and ear training. I still throw in some arpeggio practice because I consider it "fun" when I'm in to it. OK, gotta try this Interval Timer technique, I think it could help. Thanks for this!

You can also do this with your phone if it has a Repeat function on it’s timer.

I find it useful to practice theory in my head while I'm driving. Sometimes I get so focused on it that I miss my exit

great idea! Could you do a video on the advantages of short frequent practice vs less frequent longer practice? I’m aware of scientific literature with model organisms (fly and mouse) pertaining to this… (but perhaps you’ve already covered this? Grazie!

Yah, I'm a notorious noodler. Need to try this trick.
