It's similar to city pop-ish...like the laser disk era In Japan, most bands prioritize the Drummer and Bass more than the Guitarist.

80's-90's Japanese city pop aesthetic definitely had its own charm. This trend also influenced the whole Asian music scene on that timespan. Sounds quite similar to American 80's synth pop. Glad western attracted to this genre. Hope you guys also can produce your own city pop
