Madame Ameling, a thrill to view this as my late wife (Marjory Halvorson) was a participant two years in a row in a summer music program in Munich. As a singer she was thrilled to have studied with you accompanied by both Jorg Demus and Rudolph Jansen.

Madame Ameling, you were the greatest inspiration of the finest singer I have known personally, the late Kari Windingstad. This video shows me what she so prized in you and your singing. Thank you for making this, and please continue to share your musings with us!

Most instructive comparison. And beautiful interpretation. Thanks ! The way Debussy goes from heaven (Eros) to mud (Thanatos) and back is properly sublime.

Late 1976 i was in the Congresbuilding suppoost in the Hague and opened the door and saw a woman rehearsing on stage, i thought, she can sing, who the hell was she? She smiled and I was just starting my study solo vocals at the Royal conservatoire of the Hague! The las Dutch International Dutch Liedsinger!

I heard you live at the Rogers Auditorium at the Met Museum singing Schubert’s “Hirt” - and then, more recently, giving a master class at the San Francisco Conservatory - both unforgettable. Your interpretations (on Philips LPs) of Wolf lieder remain the most profound of all (and I have dozens of Wolf recordings). However, several of your best (selections from Ital Liederb with DB) I believe have not yet made it to CD - is this correct? I sincerely hope they are reissued - under any sponsorship. This series of videos is truly remarkable and a wonderful monument to your unique art. Thank you for this gift to us.

Hello, Ms. Ameling. Could you ask Decca Eloquence to re-issue the Philips Recitals Box? I hope all is well.
